Shelburne Control 911 Dispatch Center is located in Shelburne, Massachusetts at the Massachusetts State Police B-2 barracks. The Dispatch Center operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is the largest regional dispatch center in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The dispatch center supplies services for portions of, and in most cases all of the needs of 25 towns, and 62 agencies in Franklin County Massachusetts directly, and many more agencies indirectly.
The dispatcher duties include answering cellular 911, enhanced 911, and dispatching appropriate services including police, fire, ambulance, public works and ancillary services. Dispatchers also answer the NAWAS (National Alert Warning System) phone, and are the Tri-State Fire Mutual Aid dispatchers for Southern Vermont, New Hampshire, and several Massachusetts counties. The center serves as a warning point for dam failures, nuclear exercises, air medical coordination, etc. The dispatchers are all certified in EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch), and are continually monitored with the in-house QA (Quality Assurance) program. We also serve as the control center for Mass Casualty Incidents in the Franklin County area.
