Willow at the 2002 Summer Royal show
The Melbourne Summer Royal Horse show is the largest horse show in the southern hemisphere.  Classes include breed classes, open divisions, pony club and adult riding club and performance horse classes.  This year, Willow and I competed in the Western Breeds section.  This was the first time I have ever shown Western, and my first showmanship class.  But willow was a pro, as this was her second royal (she went to her first at 3 months old) and my third ....
"oh, you woke me up" she says, "now where's my dinner?"
"Maybe that person's got my dinner?" says Will.  Honestly, I am so lucky.  To get her ears pricked up for a photo, you only have to wave something that looks vaguely like food under her nose, and she is all alert, bright eyes and pricked ears.
Here's Willow in her box.  We arrived at the showground on the night before, and I slept in a locker 2 doors down from Willow's stable.  Let me just say that Willow is a VERY noisy eater and she slopped through her food all night.
Now anybody who knows Willow will agree that she loves her dinner.  So here she is, first thing in the morning, bleating to everone that I haven't fed her in days (she lies), that she is a poor underfed, thin pony (another lie) and that no one loves her (yet another lie)
