Tempera  = Any powdered paint

Tempera and Starch Fingerpaints

For a Batch -
2 cups powdered tempera
water
1 cup liquid starch

Mix tempera and starch until it is smooth and creamy. Slowly add water until the mixture has a good thick consistency.

For an individual -
1/8 cup liquid starch
1tbsp powdered tempera

Pour starch directly onto paper. Sprinkle with tempera and then mix in the colour as you paint.

Flour paint

3 cups flour
2 tbsp liquid soap
3/4 cup water
powdered tempera

Combine the first three ingredients until the mixture is a thick paste. Tint with tempera as desired.

Detergent Finger Paint

Liquid diswashing detergent
tempera or food colouring
water

Add water to diswashing detergent slowly until pasty. Tint with colour.

Playschool Fingerpaint

i heaped tbspn cornflour
Cold water and
Boiling water
tempera
Dishwashing Detergent

Mix cornflour with a little water till you get a smooth milky paste. Pour on some boiling water , stirring vey quickly until it turns thick clear and smooth. Adda little tempera nd detergent. Allow to cool before use.

Condensed Milk Fingerpaint

Condensed milk (one tin per colour)
Tempera paint

Mix paint into tins. Use on thick paper and have wash up facilities nearby as it is very sticky. The colours though are very vivid and glossy.

Chocolate Pudding Fingerpaint

Prepare chocolate pudding according to instructions but let your children use the mix as fingerpaint..a delicious experience for toddlers!

Face Paint

1 tsp corn starch
1/2tsp cold cream
1/2tsp water
food coloring

Mix together ingredients in batches , adding a different colour to each batch. Prepare in a muffin tin for easy use and use a thin brush to apply.
