Hi, Person-Incharge of Shengxue Section:

I refer to the above-captioned matter and would like to have more information about the languages and linguistics programme.

I have 7 year in editng/writing and translation field experience. Now, I would like to continue to study.

I have online to found this courses through by um.edu.my, but the information is not clear. I had sent my mail to them for asking qualification to entry this course, but notbody reply.

I hope Shengxue_um can let me know, how to apply and admission this courses for those without an STPM but have related working experience and obtained a grade II certificate in the Malaysia Certificate of Education (SPM) examination with credit in 5 subjects include Bahasa Malaysia? The detail of this course programme? Total credit hour to be completed and budgetary of the course fee plus other expenses.

如果想申请此科系(Bahasa & Linguistk 而又没有STPM资格)，可以以以下的资格申请：
a) 马大所办的语文研究文凭(Diploma yang berkaitan dengan pengajiaan bahasa/linguistik) 或
b) 马大或其他学府所办的语文研究文凭或
c) A level 文凭或
d) Sijil International Baccalaureate 或
e) Diploma KISDAR 或
f) Diploma INSANIAH 或
g) 教育部所办的Sijil / Diploma Penguruan asas 或由Politeknik 所办但受教育部承认的相等文凭，同时需有语文教导的经验或者曾担任与语文相关的工作 (如翻译、语文策划等)

此科系需修读100学分，学院内所提供的课程，包括内语(阿拉伯文、华文、英文& 淡米尔文) 与外语(日文、德文、意大利文、法文& 西班牙文)。学生不只是修读语文而已，课程也包括语文历史，语文沟通文化的方式等。基本上一位学生每学期可拿15－21 credit hours，而一个credit hour 是 RM40 - RM45，另外还需每学期交一些杂费如保险，图书馆费等是大约RM 100 - RM 200 。
