The picture on the left is from the actual pattern.  The picture on the right is my variation of the pattern.

This is not my own pattern originally was just going to place it up on my page but found since it’s an older pattern it was written in a strange manner, so I transposed it then tested the pattern only to find that the pattern is not correct.  I’ve made a note in the area I found the discrepancy.

Materials:

Finished Size:  5 ¼” in diameter (very small for a potholder)

Rnd 2:  Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join

Rnd 3:  Ch 3, 2 dc in next sc (dc in next sc, 2 dc in next sc) around, join

Rnd 4:  Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, sc in next 1 dc, 2 sc in next dc (sc in next 2 dc, 2 sc in next dc) around, join

Rnd 5:  Ch 3, dc in next 2 sc 2 dc in next sc (dc in next 3 sc, 2 dc in next sc) around, join

Rnd 6:  Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, sc in next 3 dc, 2 sc in next dc (sc in next 4 dc, 2 sc in next dc) around, join

Rnd 7:  Ch 3, dc in next 4 sc, 2 dc in next sc (dc in next 5 sc, 2 dc in next sc) around, join

Rnd 8:  Ch 1, sc in same place as sl st * sk next dc, 5 dc in next dc (shell made), sk next dc, sc in next dc * repeat around, join.  Break off yellow. (Note:  after trying this pattern I found I came up 2 st short, so you might want to compensate for this.)

Rnd 9:  Attach blue to center dc of first shell, sc in same place * shell in next sc, sc in center dc of next shell * repeat around, join and break off

Rnd 10:  With yellow, repeat rnd 9

Sew on bone ring
