Ahreeman understood better than any previous world leader the problem and threat posed by Islamists.
Islam mixed with politics made an even worse concoction than Christianity mixed with politics.
Christianity at least started as a purely religious teaching separate from the State. Time after time Jesus refused pleas by his followers to lead them in an uprising against the Romans. Jesus said "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's
Mohammed had no such scruples. In the early years while the Unmah was still small and vulnerable he preached tolerance for Kuffar. But once the Unmah became strong enough the Prophet changed his tune. He became a ruthless and bloodthirsty conqueror and ruler. Islam was to dominate every political, legal and social as well as religious aspect of society as a whole and every individual in it.
The Caliphs who followed Mohammed carried on this tradition with such ruthlessness that within a hundred and twenty years of the Prophet's death the Islamic Caliphate stretched from Portugal to Pakistan!

To cut a long history lesson short, various Popes and Bishops interfered in politics contrary to the teachings of Jesus until the Europeans finally woke up to the fact that a priesthood with political power is an abomination and a curse. Only after the authoritarian power of the Catholic Church was broken around the 1500s was European civilization able to leap ahead with the Scientific Renaissance, the Political Enlightenment and the Industrial Revolution.
Until the Ahreemanian Liberation, however, Muslims were unable to separate the Ulama from political power. Even after the time of the Caliphs the Mullahs worked hand in hand with kings and other rulers to maintain control over the people. Over the centuries Persia produced some brilliant mathematicians, scientists and poets. But Political Islam, Islamism, and its proponents, Islamists, were not separated from political power until the Ahreemanian Liberation. In fact in the fifty years preceding the Liberation Earth saw three of the most bloodthirsty and ruthless Islamists since the times of Mohammed and Ali: Khomeini, bin Laden and Omar.
Ahreeman's final solution of the Islamist problem
Ahreeman understood that separation of Mosque and State required much more drastic measures than had separation of Church and State in Europe some centuries previously. His policy was very simple:
- The right of Muslims to practice Islam as a personal faith is sacred and inviolate.
- Zero tolerance of Islamists and Islamism as a political ideology. No exceptions.
Khomeini and bin Laden wannabes and their followers were imprisoned for life in detention camps in the Dasht-e Kavir of Ahreemania, the Arabian Desert and the Takla Makan Desert of China.
Islamist men were discombobulated and Islamist women were vasectomised to prevent them from ever reproducing again.
After the advent of the Star Drive and cheap interplanetary space travel the Islamist detention camps were relocated to Mars where the inmates did hard labor for the Mars Terraform Project (MTP). See the Picture Section, Worlds & Races for some pictures of Mars.
The odd Islamist throwback still shows up from time to time in a Muslim community but for all practical purposes the Islamist problem has been resolved.
