SMHA TO OPEN SHIP APPLICATION PROCESS

            The Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority (SMHA) will be reopening the Schenectady Home Improvement Program (SHIP) waiting list, which is available to owner-occupied residences in the City of Schenectady, on January 6, 2003 during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  The list will remain open until fifty (50) applicants are approved, at which time the list will be closed.

            The SHIP is a housing rehabilitation grant program designed for low/moderate income homeowners who live in the SONYMA Target Area, who have resided in their home of at least 90 days within the City of Schenectady and who have their City taxes, school taxes, and homeowners insurance paid to date.

            Waiting list applications for the SHIP must be picked up in person at the SMHA Construction Office, Schonowee Village, Millard Street, Schenectady, NY.

            The waiting list will be established on a first-come, first-served bases according to the date the application is received by mail.  Applications must be mailed to the address listed in the application in order to be accepted.  Applications will not be accepted in person.
