The Myth Of Love

Softly he whispers into her ear

Words of love and words of fear

She begs and she pleads

But her cries are in vain

First the passion, now the pain

Like a frightened child she succumbs to his charm

Please be gentle, this is the first time

I'll be gentle, he say's with a grin

As he opens the door and lets himself in

She thought that sex was suppose to be

Tenderness caring, love without gain

Not this one-sided trashing with tears and with pain

He is calm now his passion is spent

The beast within him is laid to rest

He looks for his clothes and gets ready to go

She stares at him as he pulls on his vest

He had only just told her he loved her so

Don't go she pleads come back to bed

You promised you loved me

He laughs at her as he throws back his head

In her mind she hears her voice shout

Is this what love is really all about?

She pulls the sheets up over her head

And wishes… She were dead
