THE POTTERY COURSES

I currently run Weekend Throwing, Hand Building and Glazing Workshops; 5 Day Summer Courses; Evening Studio Pottery Classes and Children's Workshops In Clay.
Weekend and Summer Course Fees include: Demonstrations and Individual Tuition Talks and Discussions on Technical Matters Some Materials and Bisque Firing Costs Refreshments and a Light Lunch Each group will be small, consisting of a maximum of 4 students, thus giving more time for individual attention. Bisque fired work can be collected at a later date or posted at an additional expense. Alternatively students are welcome to return and glaze their pots during any one of the courses listed or at a time suitable. The glazing session should last for no more than half a day. It is a non-residential course and those travelling from outside of London will have to make their own arrangements. Details of local accommodation can be supplied, if requested.

THE THROWING WORKSHOPS
The throwing workshops are held last Friday of each month. The course will cover: Clay Preparation Basic Skills Thrown Forms Ideas and Techniques for Surface Decoration Each student is provided with an electric wheel and untutored throwing practice will be held between 3.00 - 6.00pm.

THE HAND BUILDING WORKSHOPS
The hand building workshops are held first Friday every 3rd month. The Workshops will cover: Hand Building Methods Surface Decoration Colour application Untutored practice will be held between 3.00 - 5.00pm.

THE GLAZING WORKSHOPS
The glazing workshops are held second Friday every 3rd month. Items covered include: Weighing and Measuring (making up glazes from a recipe) Basic Calculation (making changes to an existing recipe) Testing Raw Materials and a Mixture of Raw Materials Glaze Testing Techniques Kiln Packing and Kiln Firing

THE SUMMER WORKSHOPS
The summer workshops will mainly cover throwing and hand building: Throwing Hand Building Glazing Glaze Technology Kiln Packing Firing and Raku (depending upon demand)

THE STUDIO POTTERY WORKSHOPS
The studio pottery workshop is a comprehensive introduction to pottery making for the complete beginner or can be tailored to suit individual needs from intermediate to advanced and are held all year round. Fees do not include materials, firings or lunch. Depending on prior experience items covered will be a mixture of the following: Throwing Hand Building and Design Sculpture Surface Decoration Glazing Techniques Packing and Firing

THE CHILDREN'S WORKSHOPS IN CLAY
The Children's Workshops In Clay are suitable for children aged 5 years and above. They are held during term-time only and extra sessions outside of the term can be arranged. Please refer to Course Dates for further information Please phone or email with day(s) suitablility, number and ages of children.. The Children's Pottery Parties are also available @ £12.00 per child; this includes the cost of Materials and Firings.
Throwing Parties held for up to 6 children or Making and Decorating Parties held for up to 8 children
