Mythological Stories - Stories of Asur

Our Hindoo mythological literature, Raamaayan, Mahaabhaarat, Puraan etc, is full of stories. There are many stories about Asurs also in them. There are four words which are used interchangeably - Asur, Daanav, Daitya, and Raakashas. Although there is a slight difference between these terms, but for our purpose they all serve the same purpose, so we will also be using them interchangeably.

Although all Raakshas are usually bad and wicked but still there were many Raakshas who were very devout and religious devotees of Bhagavaan, that is why they could become so powerful that even Devtaa were afraid of them and had to go to Vishnu for His help. Here we are going to tell you their stories. You judge yourself, that when they were so pious, so good devotees of Bhagavaan, why they became so wicked?
