20 - Theory vs Practice
This is a very very short
story, but it is very educative. Once the great writer Mark Twain was having a
discussion with a
ruthless and aggressive businessman. The businessman said to Mark - "I have a
desire to go to Holy Land and climb to the top of Mt Sinai to read the Ten
Commandments aloud at the top, before I die."
Mark quickly replied - "I
have a better idea. Rather than go to Mt Sinai where Moses was given the Ten
Commandments, why don't you just stay home here in Boston, and practice the Ten
Commandments in your life."
[This humorous comment is
very meaningful. Most of us run after reading this and that, but do not practice
them. It will be better for all of us if instead of wasting time in too much
reading, we should read a little and practice it a lot in our lives.]
