Shimadzu UV-Vis $hitware
got $hit.... you do if you have Shimadzu!
The following observations was posted in the sci.chem newsgroup at: http://groups.google.com on January 20, 1999:
"I would like to weigh in on this discussion. I use a Shimadzu UV-Vis spectrophotometer. It has been reliable [the word reliable should NOT be used in the same sentence with Shimadzu!]. Then again who could mess up old technology [you had to ask.... Shimadz!]. The only complaint I have is with their software [complaint should be plural]. It is not much better than having a strip chart recorder. I always end up saving the spectra and using other software. If I had a choice of buying another Shimadzu I do not know at this point [Hint: Don't make the same mistake that Bill Weaver did!]. It would have to depend on if I could by pass their computer programs and use something like National Instruments software. I need to control several instruments at the same time and at the present Shimadzu's software will not allow me to do that. [Remember.... when you buy $hit, then you'll have $hit!]"

instruments which are superior in terms of performance, reliability, price, tech support,

Shimadzu spectrophotometers than anything else as evidenced from the following

Weigh YOUR options.... You WON'T choose Shimadzu!
