Keep up the good work. We requested a used differential thermal analysis instrument for evaluation purposes by Shimadzu. Their literature said it would "interface easily to a PC" but they later told us it required a $6,000 interface. Now they are claiming we agreed to purchase it and are sueing us in Maryland court, even though no sales or purchase contract was signed.

William Klotz, ChemEnco Inc.

Court documents reveal that a civil lawsuit (Case # 10010001821-96) was filed by Shimadzu Scientific Instruments on May 9, 1996 against ChemEnco, Inc and William Klotz (115 Chesney Glen Drive, Matthews, NC 28262) for $14,712.99 in the District Court of Maryland for Howard County (USA).

Incredible as it may seem, this is not the first, and probably will not be the last time that Shimadzu files suit against one of their valued customers! We have learned from a District Court Civil Clerk (410-461-0213) of several other lawsuits brought by Shimadzu against former customers (see below). Just another reason to add to the growing list of purchasing considerations for prospective (past, present & future) Shimadzu customers!
