My Research
My undergrad research:
During my last undergraduate year in College my research focused on improving animation of physically simulated motions. In particular, I was interested in exploring the influence of statistically simulated noise on the running behaviour of physically simulated human runner. For more information please read: Bodenhimer, R., Shleyfman, A., and Hodgins, J. The Effects of Noise on the Perception of Animated Human Running, submitted to Eurographics Workshop on Animation and Simulation, June 1999.
Current research:
Right now my interests shifted toward physics of natural phenomena, the ones that are among the most powerful and beautiful destructive forces: Avalanches. My current focus is on the powder-snow avalanche motion. I'd like to create a system that given physical parameters of the original state and terrain will produce animation of avalanche. Right now I am gathering information on physical properties of avalanches to use in my simulation. Click here for the bibliography of relevant articles.
