The 2004 AND 1 Mix Tape® Tour continued tonight in Sacramento as the AND 1 players were handed their first loss of the tour by the local Sacramento squad. After three strong quarters, the AND 1 players were outshined by the Sacramento squad resulting in a 103-95 loss. The AND 1 players continued their search for the next playground legend on this summer’s 30-city tour by selecting two players to join the tour; one from Santa Rosa, California and another from Sacramento, CA.

Helicopter continued to electrify the fans and lead his team; putting up put up 28 points and three boards on the night in addition to catching several rim-rattling dunks. AND 1 jumped out to an early lead and found themselves up 49-45 at the half. Syk Wit It and Professor both showed their prowess at the point guard position; dishing a total of ten dimes in the first half between them. Team Sacramento’s Spinmaster proved too much for the AND 1 players to handle as he dropped 47 points in leading his team to victory.

After impressive performances in both the Open Run and Mix Tape Game; the AND 1 players continued their search for the next playground legend by selecting two players to join the 2004 AND 1 Mix Tape Tour. Standing at 6’9” and weighing 235 pounds; Santa Rosa’s Justin Bellegarde aka “JRoc” was the first player selected. The former University of Washington player had a solid game; posting 8 points and 9 boards on the night. The second player selected was Sacramento’s own Roberto Young aka “Exile”. After being injured while traveling with the 2003 AND 1 Mix Tape Tour, Young again impressed the crowd and AND 1 Mix Tape players with his skillful ball handling and leaping ability. Bellegarde and Young are the second and third players selected this summer for the right to earn an AND 1 endorsement contract
