The following chronology is incomplete as research is continuing.

Year Event
1907(?)

- Kaiso Masayoshi Kori Hisataka is born in Shuri, Okinawa on April 22nd. Pronounced in Okinawan as Seiki Kudaka. He dedicates his life to studying the martial arts and receives instruction from and exchanges with some of the great martial artists of the time. Anko Azato, Sanda Kanagusuku, Kanryo Higaonna, Chojun Miyagi, Chotoku Kyan

1915

- Anko Azato passes away.  Alternative dates of 1906, 1914 or 1925 are quoted by some researchers.

1917

- Karate is first demonstrated in Japan by Master Gichin Funakoshi and Master Shinko Matayoshi, at an event at the Dai Nippon Butokukai in Kyoto.
- Kanryo Higaonna (b. 1853) died.

1921

- Sanda Kanagusuku passes away.

1930

- Master Chotoku Kyan, Master Ryosei Kuwae and Kaiso Kori Hisataka demonstrate karatedo at a martial arts festival at the Butokuden in Taipei.

Kaiso Kori Hisataka continues travelling through Taiwan and China, and parts of Asia for over a year.

1932

- Kaiso Kori Hisataka demonstrates the kata Happo-ate (Hisataka family version of Kusanku) at a Budo festival commemorating the confederation of Manchuria.

1936

- Historic meeting of Okinawa's Masters of Karate

1938

- Kaicho Shunji Watanabe, a student of Kaiso Kori Hisataka and founder of Shorinjiryu Kenyukai Karate Watanabe-ha, is born.

1940

- Hanshi Masayuki Kukan Hisataka is born.

1945

- Master Chotoku Kyan passes away due to malnutrition following the battle of Okinawa at the end of WW2.

1947

- Kaiso Kori Hisataka founded Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karate and his first dojo in Oshima Park, Hamada Village Kyushu.

1953

- Chojun Miyagi passes away. Kaiso Kori Hisataka travels to Okinawa to help arrange the funeral.

1955

- Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karate Hombu Dojo relocated to current location in the Waseda part of Shinjuku ward in Tokyo. Opening ceremonies are officiated by Master Shinkin Gima and Master Tatsukuma Ushijima. A 15-year-old Hanshi Masayuki Kukan Hisataka demonstrates a 10 person continuous kumite.

195?

- Kaiso Kori Hisataka author's the first book about Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karate titled " ". It is a small printing of which today there are but a few copies that Hanshi Hisataka will present as gifts.

1963

- Hanshi Masayuki Hisataka is sent to the United States of America to teach karate.  His principle location was the School of Scientific Judo in Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A.

1964

- Hanshi Masayuki Hisataka, Sensei Hisanobu Yamazaki, Sensei Naoyuki Okabe and others demonstrate Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karate at the New York's World Fair, introducing Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo to North America.

196?

- Shihan Naoyuki Okabe is deported back to Japan after his Visitor's Visa expires.

1965

- Masayuki Histaka is mentioned in Feb. 1965 Black Belt Magazine

1967

- The Japanese government asksHanshi Masayuki Hisataka to represent Japan and demonstrate Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karate and Judo at the World Exposition in Montreal Quebec Canada with Kaicho Shunji Watanabe.
Hanshi Hisataka opens a dojo at the Seidokwan Academy of Judo and Karate, and a second dojo at McGill University.
Shihan Watanabe moves afterwards to Maryland U.S.A. to open a Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo dojo.

1969

- Shihan Shigeru Ishino arrives in Canada to assist Hanshi Masayuki Hisataka with the dojo operations in Canada.

1970

- Shihan Tamon Kashimoto is the first of the Japanese instructors in North America to break away from the Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karate hombu dojo, forming Shorinjiryu Nanzenkai Karate.

The retirement of Kaiso Hisataka, and his son Hanshi Masayuki Hisataka inherits the mantle of the organization.

Virtually all other Japanese instructors in the US and Canada (including Shihans Watanabe, Yamazaki, Morita, Monjiyama,and Ishino) sever ties with the Shorinjiryu Kenkokan hombu dojo over the next 2 years.

1973

- Scientific Karatedo by Hanshi Masayuki Kukan Hisataka is published.

Shihan Wayne Donivan is appointed as chief instructor of Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo in North America, following the break up of the organization in the USA and Canada.

Kyoshi Myron Lubitsch, a former student of Shihan Tamon Kashimoto, founded the Shorinjiryu Kenryukan Karate in New York.

1974

- Hanshi Masayuki Hisataka returns to Japan to take over the Chief Instructor position in Tokyo at the Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo hombu dojo.

1977

- Shihan Laurence Vanniekerk, a senior Shitoryu instructor corresponds with Hanshi Hisataka and establishes Australian Shorinjiryu Karatedo.

1979

- Kyoshi John Mirrione, a former student of Shihan Tamon Kashimoto, founded the Shorinjiryu Kenkokai Karate in New York.

1988

- Kaiso Kori Hisataka passes away in Tokyo, Japan on August 14th, 1988.

1988

- Shihan Shigeru Ishino returns to Japan and the Shorinjiryu Kenyukai in Canada collapses as the black belts decide to quit karate, join other Shorinjiryu organizations, create their own organizations, or join other martial arts styles.

1989?

- Hanshi Hisataka's World Koshiki Karate Federation holds it's international event in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Shihans Doug Roberts and Brian Aarons and other Shorinjiryu Kenkoakn Karate instructors leave Shihan Wayne Donivan and form Shorinjiryu Kudaka Karate but also continue to use the name Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karate even though they are no longer associated with or pay dues to Hanshi Hisataka.

1994

- Essential Shorinjiryu Karatedo by Hanshi Masayuki Kukan Hisataka and researched by Sensei Des Paroz is published.
Shihan Wayne Donivan leaves Hanshi Hisataka's organization and dissolves Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo Federation of Canada.  Shihan Donivan then forms his own organization - Shorinjiryu Kentokukan Karatedo, bringing with him the support of a majority of the Shorinjiryu Kenkokan dojos and disassociates itself from the World Koshiki Karate Federation (WKKF) as well.

Shihans Robin Campbell and Luc Gilbert decide to stay with Hanshi Hisataka and co-represent Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo Association of Canada, as well as the WKKF in Canada with the remaining 3 or 4 dojos.

2000

- Shihan Shigeru Ishino begins to teach Karate again and creates the Shorinjiryu Genbukan Karate Federation in Canada.
