River Thames

The River Thames starts at Southend and gradually winds its way to Oxford and is 215 miles long, and with concerns of flooding, a barrier was erected just east of the O2 arena in 1982. There are plenty of things to do on and by the river, and once a year there is the famous Oxford and Cambridge boat race, which is held between the two University Cities. There are plenty of companies that do trips and also you can hire boats out. The river is a wonderful place, and is one of my most favourite part of London. Sometimes there is nothing better than sitting by the river enjoying a drink and watch the boats cruise down the river. Please go to this website for all trips accommodation, pubs and restaurants along the Thames, no trip to London is compete without spending some quality time along the River of London.
