Xel Shi'pi: An Angian. He is a lieutenant in the Angian military; an expert at pistol combat. |
Xel flew down to Tre's'pa quietly. It's been awhile since I got a military leave. Fey's gonna be so surprised! I hope she likes the present... Xel fingered a diamond ring and his golden amulet, his father's memento.
He hopped off, and walked over to Fey's house. He stopped at the door, and turned the handle, but it was locked. Xel reached for Sidewinder, his trusty gun, then changed his mind. He reached under a loose rock, and took out a key. He quickly unlocked the door, and walked in.
"Fey! It's Xel!" Xel walked through the parlor into her kitchen. "Fey, where are you?" He turned left, and opened the door to her bedroom. Xel looked around. "Guess you're not here either..." Xel saw the bathroom door was closed, and walked over to it. He leaned his ear against it, and heard nothing.
Xel walked out and back to the kitchen. Fey and her father, Jeon, walked in, both with bats. "Fey! There you are!"
Fey looked at Xel. "Xel!? What are you doing here!?" Fey nodded her head towards her father. Jeon stared at Xel impassively. "So...this...is Xel?"
Fey glared at Jeon. "Yes, this is Xel. Dad, could you go check on the generator, please!?" Jeon glared at Xel, then left the room. She looked back to Xel. "My dad's been itching to meet you."
Xel glanced at her. "What was your first clue?" Xel motioned to kiss Fey, when a large BOOM could be heard from the fields. Fey jumped up. "Was that an explosion!?" Fey ran out to the fields. Xel got up slowly, and followed them out. He couldn't see where they were, so Xel flew up to get a better view.
He looked around, and when he finally found them, he saw a disturbing sight. Fey was being held by two suspicious looking men with spades, and Jeon was being put in a half-nelson by a man in a black leather jacket. Another two stood by with guns, watching the whole thing. Xel pulled out Sidewinder, and with careful aim, he shot one of the men grabbing on to Fey.
Fey broke free, and Jeon flipped over the man behind him. Fey made a run for it, and two of the men chased after her. Jeon charged the man in the jacket and tackled him to the floor. One of the men who were just standing there pulled out his gun, but Xel quickly dispatched of him. Xel flew down, and pulled Jeon up.
Jeon glared at Xel. "You're the reason they're here!" Xel flew up into the sky. "Why would they be after me? Now where'd Fey go..." Jeon flew up as well. "Fey went that way, come on!"
Together, they flew in the direction Fey ran off in. They found her struggling against the two men. Xel quickly dispatched of them, and they ran down to meet Fey, who was in shock. Fey hugged Xel. "Why are they here!?" Xel shook his head. "I have no idea. Jeon, you search these two, I'll go back and search the other three."
Xel flew back to the original site of trouble. He searched the dead man wearing a jacket, and found a small envelope. He reached inside, and found a typed document. He read it quickly:
Location: Tre's'pa; corn farm
Xel pondered for a minute. Who would want my amulet? Hmmm... He flew back over to Jeon and Fey and showed them the note. "Isn't it strange? I'm going to go to Zrikon. Sorry Fey, but this is important." Fey grabbed Xel. "I'm coming with you!" Fey turned to Jeon. Jeon sighed. "I'm coming too...to keep an eye on your boyfri-...Xel. Besides, do you know where Zrikon is?" Xel shook his head sheepishly. Jeon laughed. "It's on the outskirts of Talaboa, a large mining city."
With Sidewinder and Xel's mysterious amulet in hand, Xel, Jeon, and Fey left for their next destination: Talaboa, the mining city! |
