- General Information -
Rainforests all over the world are being harvested for their wood and other valuable natural resources, while the creatures who inhabit these areas are squeezed into smaller and smaller areas. Among these
creatures is a certain, rare species of Aardvark, and they're also being hunted for their valuable coats. These varks are tiny, weighing no more than ten pounds. They're about a foot long from nose to tail, and just a few inches high at the shoulder. They live in burrows they dig at the bases of trees, and are able to climb the trees in search of their favorite foods: insects, berries, and nuts.
- What Can You Do? -
All you have to do in order to help these guys out is adopt them! The staff at Showcase makes regular visits to these rainforests and captures sick, injured, and displaced varks, then we bring them back here and
nurse them back to health. After making sure each animal is perfectly healthy and sound, we adopt them out to loing homes. Once you have your aardvark, we encourage you to breed them in order to bring the
population up. All of the information you need to do this can be found below.
- Adopting a Vark -
If you've found yourself interested in adopting a Vark from us, all you have to do is visit the Trading Post on the main forum on PrismMoon. The application process is very
simple, and you'll have your Vark in no time! Please keep in mind that there is a small adoption fee that is applied to every adoption in order to cover the cost of medications, transportation, and housing while the vark is in our posession.
- Custom Varks -
If you would like us to find you a specific vark in order to fit your breeding needs or your own personal tastes, just go ahead and visit that Trading Post thread on PrismMoon about our Aardvarks, and fill out the form that's there. I would be happy to look for a vark that fits your standards while I'm out there. Anything to save the varks!
- Breeding Varks -
Breeding varks is very, very easy. All you have to do is email me (Karli) at celestialtigress888@gmail.com with the names and pictures of the varks you wish to breed, as well as the names of the people who own them. It may take a little while, but before too long, you'll have new baby Aardvarks! I will send the babies to whoever emailed me the breeding, and then you (meaning whoever keeps the babies) will email me the names of them. These Aardvarks usually have between 1 and 4 babies at a time. The options for breedings are as follows:
- Two of your own varks (usually resultiing in 1 baby)
- One of your varks and one of someone else's (usually resulting in 2 babies)
- One of your varks and one of mine (number of varklets varies)
You may also do different things, such as breedings between two of someone else's varks, but the usual number of babies will still apply. Don't be afraid to trade breedings or anything. Obviously, breedings can only occur between varks of different genders.
- Vark Ownership Rules -
-> Always tell me the names of your varks. I do keep track of them!
-> It is alright with me if you trade/give away varks, but you can NOT sell them for any kind of currency.
-> Do not edit my outlines or the varks in any way, unless I do a contest or something that allows it.
-> You must have a website so you can display your varks.
