SHS Alumni Association Goals & Activities

Our Goal: To help students become knowledgeable participating members of society equipped with education and the necessary skills to meet tomorrow's challenges. 

Activities We Are Involved In:

Scholarships - To provide further education for deserving high school students

Alumni Directory - Maintain a directory of Southern High School Alumni

Special Projects - To raise revenue for special school projects, such as new equipment, materials and other special needs which are not covered in the school's budget; we encourage student involvement in these projects. Sponsor events for alumni participation (All Class Reunion, Sip-N-Chat, upcoming Southern night at a local sports bar, etc.)

Class Reunions - Assist with class reunions and provide names and addresses for classmates listed in the Alumni Directory

Hall of Fame - To honor those alumnus who have made special contributions to society, who are active members in their community, and whose accomplishments deserve merit (press BACK button to return to SHS Alumni Association page)

Basketball/Football Homecoming - Show Alumni support in current student activities and sponsor a Hospitality Area during these events. Paid Alumni members get in free to both football and basketball homecoming with their membership card. Cards can be picked up at the Alumni table at the entrance to each event.

Golf Scramble - To raise revenue for scholarships and other Alumni activities; set up a fun "get-together" for the Alumni and guests to enjoy
