Han and Chewbacca jettisoned a cargo of contraband belonging to Jabba the Hutt, who put a price on his head, which led them to transport Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Artoo-Detoo and See-Threepio from Tatooine to Alderaan for money to pay Jabba back. When they arrived at Alderaan, they discovered the planet destroyed, and were taken captive by the Death Star. Han agreed to if he was to be rewarded, and rewarded well. After escaping from the Death Star, rescuing Princess Leia, Han took the Rebels to their base on Yavin 4. They decided take the reward and leave. They changed they're minds, and joined the battle just in time save Luke's life, and destroy the station. For his efforts, Han was awarded a Medal of Honor, and acting rank of captain in the Alliance. Later on, the Imperial attacked Hoth's Echo Base and Princess Leia had to use the Falcon to escape. When they escaped Hoth, Darth Vader posted a reward, and dispatched bounty hunters. Boba Fett captured Solo at Cloud City, transported to Jabba the Hutt while carbon frozen. Leia, Lando, Chewbacca, and Luke rescued Han from Jabba's palace, after a battle that killed Jabba and knocked Boba Fett into the gaping maw of the Sarlacc creature. After rejoining the Alliance, he received the commission of General, and was put in charge of a strike team sent to the moon of Endor to destroy the shield generator that protected the second Death Star. With the help of the native Ewoks, the Rebel strike force defeated the Imperial forces, and destroyed the generator, paving the way for the victory at the Battle of Endor.
