2. Essay: About Anupam

Anupama is my eldest daughter, born in 2040 BS (1984 AD) Falgun 8 Monday:  A day after Nepal's Democracy Day.  She was born as a neonatal baby, exactly a month before her expected delivery date.  I kept her name as Aturthi Solgun Hasti and nickname as Aparajita.  There are some reasons behind these names.  I married with Hema ritually in 2040.1.6 on the side of holy river Seti Gandaki. The day was Akshaya Tritiya (3rd full moon day).  It is believed that this is the holy day to performed marriage ceremony since our god Mahadeva (Shiva) and Parbati (Daughter of Parbat Raj) also performed their marriage in the day.

My grandmother selected the day.  Initially my grandparents were not happy with my choice since it was inter caste. Later on they gave permission and arranged all for us.  My wife Hema is the 3rd daughter of Mr. Khadka Bahadur Thapa Garanja Magar and Mrs. Hari Devi.  I am the 1st son of Mr. Bishnu Kumar Shrestha and Mrs. Naina Kumari.

My grandmother, Ghana Kumari was expired in 2040.09.07 in Bir Hospital. She loved me very much and she bore the charismatic personality among our area. Anupama was also born in Bir Hospital after two months of my grandmother's sad demise. My grandfather Mr. Parashu Ram Shrestha is still alive and active.  He is now around eighty years old.

  • Meditation makes time shorter and addiction makes it longer. If you are in good meditation, 12 hours are just like 12 minutes and if you are in addiction of wrong habit, then 12 minutes become as long as 12 hours.
  • There is no thing irrelevant in the kingdom of friendship. This is also a matter of individual's perception.  It is also relative to the person's attitude, moral and containments.
  • Powerful persons do illegal works and there are no penalties for them.
  • Illegal works have more power than legal works.  Hence, corruptions have increased worldwide!
  • It is not necessary to say that humorous persons are always happy and crying people are always weak.

5. Shree Sadhak Satyam (SSS):

If we cannot get over our pride, our stubbornness and our narrow thinking, we cannot get beyond where we are. It is up to us to check ourselves, to remind ourselves what to do. That is the way it is. That's why the Way is completely ours, very individual, very easy, but also very difficult, because we cannot go over ourselves, we cannot go beyond what we think. That's the trouble. So try to be careful on this point, and lift yourself upward.

All of our achievements, all of our success must come from inside first, from our strong mentality, strong personality, and strong will. If we want to make it better, we want to improve our life or our situation, we must have the will to wish, and with a hard-working spirit and sacrificing attitude, we can get what we want and appreciate it.

We should not fear anything in this world; we need only fear that our minds are not stable and our wisdom is not developed enough, and therefore we do not understand the true meaning behind those things.

The more we are elevated, the more we see that cleanliness is necessary. It is the way of life. It's not that someone is cleaner than the other, or someone loves more cleanliness. It is the inner expression of beauty, virtue and Truth.

Hari Om

9. Recall/s:

Dream 16 February 2004.

R Sharma's Whole Family visited to my home at Gongabun.  U Bhauju asked to support them. She looked into my wallet and took some money for their expenditure.  I have just withdrawn the money from the bank to pay my kids school fees. I saw R's mother too.  She was just like the H's mother.  They all were looked tired.  I wonder how they are so in the dream. I saw Sadrisha and Samriddhi too.  I guess that they needed the money very much.

Dream 18 February 2004.

I was beating my son by a stick.  He counter attacked me too.  I felt very sorry later on.

Note: What naughty dreams these are!

10. Note/s:

Find a memory trick that fits your "type." Some people find it easier to remember things they see; Others can best remember things they hear or repeatedly write over and over again. Through trial and error, find out which of these approaches is best for you.

If you wish to take dandruff off from your head.  You don't need to expend your valuable money on costly shampoos.

1. Take bath daily with clean water.

2. If you are lazy to take bath daily or not convenient to take bath daily or facilities are not available to take bath daily, then grind the fenugreek and mix with fresh curd to apply on the head to remove dandruff.  After washing the head, dry your hairs and apply mustard oil fried with garlic. No headache, no dandruff!  I learnt this technique "learning by doing".

12. Quiz/es:

Who said, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"?

This eloquent defense of tolerance and freedom of speech is widely attributed to the French writer Voltaire, that master of liberal philosophy renowned for his satirical wit. François-Marie Arouet (Voltaire was his nom de plume) was one of the most celebrated writers of the 18th-century intellectual movement known as the Enlightenment. His tolerant religious and political beliefs were in sharp opposition to established views, and his biting commentaries twice led to his imprisonment, and eventually, to his exile to England.

But the fact of the matter is, Voltaire didn't pen or utter the sentiment you quote. According to a number of web sites, "The phrase was invented by a later author as an epitome of his attitude." It comes from The Friends of Voltaire, written by Evelyn Beatrice Hall and published in 1906 under the pseudonym Stephen G. Tallentyre. Hall said that she paraphrased Voltaire's words in his "Treatise on Toleration," which includes such thoughts as:

Not only is it extremely cruel to persecute in this brief life those who do not think the way we do, but I do not know if it might be too presumptuous to declare their eternal damnation.

The issues Voltaire addressed are surprisingly contemporary and as relevant today as in 18th-century France. Now we'd love to discuss the matter further, but we must go cultivate our garden...
