About the Book

The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) seeks international cooperation to protect listed wildlife species from threats of over-exploitation, including their trade. Nepal and India as signatories and parties to CITES have international obligations to control the trade of products made from any parts of wildlife that are protected, endangered or threatened with extinction . The book is an outcome of a legal and policy research work on the concerned field. Thus, one can find an in-depth analysis of the CITES implementation status in Nepal and India. The book also attempts to suggest for a change rather than only analyze the present status. “Though both Nepal and India are signatory parties of CITES, these countries have not performed to their best to control illegal trade in wildlife, because they have not realized the enormity of the task to control ends and the deep -rooted nature of the trade.” The book also outlines the legal and policy level failures, which have resulted in failure to control the illegal trade in flora and fauna causing an irrepairable loss to the natural endowments. The book concludes with suggestions to plug the loopholes in different legislations and enforcement strategies with a model for better implementation of CITES in both the countries.

The Song of The Life

The Song of The Life
By:Mekhled Al-zaza
E-mail:mekhled@authorsden.com

Santa Claus is coming
Candles in his hands
To light the Christmas
Angels with him are coming
To give the saintliness
To donate the happiness

Together, let us
To forget the spites
To exceed the place
And the time
To sing song of the life
“We are all
Enemies of poverty and illness
In spite of the darkness
Became more and more
We do not afraid
Because the justice of Our Lord
Here and every where
Will bloom
To give the birth, the truth
To our feelings

And with the second one
It will be a new Earth
The Earth will shine
With the lights of its Lord
The human souls will be dazed
And we will lose our personalities
Will stand in a new World
Will see with cleaver vision
Than ever before

We are all
Sons of Eve and Adam
Against the war
We love the peace
And ever eager to freedom
We are all
Guilty conscience
Our God
We ask you forgiveness”

  • There is no happiness beyond the self-contentment.
  • There is nothing irrelevant in the kingdom of friendship. This is also a matter of individual's perception.  It is also relative to the person's attitude, moral and containments.

5. Shree Sadhak Satyam (SSS):

Try our best to pray for this world, for ourselves, to protect ourselves, our morality, purity and the eternal power within ourselves. This is the only way that can save ourselves.

All the suffering will end the moment we know our true selves. Even though we sometimes still feel affected by the suffering of other people, we ourselves do not feel such a deep suffering like before enlightenment.

We must always be open and accepting, then we will find our life is terrific, is completely in harmony and beautiful, and is a blessing everyday, twenty-four hours.

9. Recall/s:

Kukurel-Lucknow visit 2043 Chaitra 1, Holy.  Samden, Narendra, Jhamak and me went to see Prem Rai to Lucknow Medical College. At the time Prem was studying MBBS there.  Way back to Kukurel Camp, we had to face problem with some drunk or evil boys who intended to loot us.  They wanted to take us some secret places.

Initially we thought that they are Prem's friends since they embarrassed us saying "Holy Mubarak".  Later one of them took my hat and denied to return.  It was late 7:30 evening.  Then Prem punched the boy who took my hat.  We walked to Kukurel.  After a sometime they came with their gang and tried to hit us.  We tackled with them.  During the fighting, Prem lost his eye-glasses. After sometime we returned to the Medical College rather than Kukurel Camp.  We report the event to our tour In-charge Prof. R.B. Mathur next morning.

*******

One evening in the Kukurel camp, we heard gun firing.  When we asked to someone locals, they said that there is a training center of a gang of Dacoits nearby. We were afraid of the situation.  Then Prof. Mathur told us, " Baccho, don't afraid of the gun firing, the Dacoits do not hamper the foresters since their hiding place is forests.  I think you know that Paani me rahane waale Makchharmachha se dusmani nahi karate hain. (People who would like to live in water, do not make enemy to crocodiles.)"

10. Note/s:

Most of us don't have a bad memory. Most of us have a really good memory, but we just don't have practice in using it efficiently.

*******

If your nose is snoring or you are affected by sinusitis, then you take 10 gm raceme of leaf mustard, Brassica juncia coss. for 7days regularly.  It is a very good medicine. I got it useful for myself.

12. Quiz/es:

What are those little white marks on your fingernails?

Medically speaking, those little white marks that sometimes appear as dots or lines on the fingernail are known as leukonychia. There are several possible causes for the discoloration, but the most common are mild trauma, a fungal infection, skin conditions, or nutritional deficiencies.

This WebMDHealth column gives an overview of how leukonychia can occur. For example, if you accidentally slam your fingernail into an object, a white mark will likely develop. But because a normal fingernail takes months to grow, by the time a blemish appears you may have forgotten what caused the trauma.

White marks on your nails that are more linear could be a sign of a fungal infection. Gyms and nail salons are hotbeds for fungus and yeast, and are common places for contracting infections. These infections attack your nail directly, causing discoloration and even separation from the nailbed. If you suspect that's the cause for the white on your claws, see a dermatologist about a culture sample and diagnosis.

Another culprit, although not as common, is psoriasis, a chronic skin condition that causes red, irritated blemishes and scaling throughout the body. In extreme cases, fingernails are affected by dead skin cells that accumulate in the nailbed and form thick layers, also known as "plaque." Treatment varies from prescription creams to ultraviolet light therapy.

Finally, an old wives' tale fingers another suspect: your diet. In folklore, the most commonly cited cause for those white marks (and probably something your mom warned you about) is a deficiency of certain minerals in your body, such as zinc and calcium. Adding nutritional supplements or foods containing these minerals to your diet could clear up your white flecks in a few months.
