	Georgiev spent most of his time in KGB working with Spestgruppa ‘A’, the counter-terrorism unit. He was viewed as a CT specialist, and spent time liaising with other CT units in other counties, before leaving the unit to concentrate solely on learning all he could about CT operations, at the behest of the KGB chairman. This he did, and he is now widely regarded by those in the know as the greatest Russian CT expert in history.
