Ponderings
Bella settled on a rock out the front of the building, she could see the road but they'd be hard pressed to see her. The rain fell down around her and she enjoyed the sensation of it trickling down her back. She loved summer rain, although this was a bit hard to be her ideal version of it.

Paige had wanted to let the kids go. Bella understood that they were just children, but…well, they had a job to do, and this life wasn't so bad, they looked after you pretty well.

What had she said? "It wasn't too long ago you were in a similar situation…what if someone had stood up for you," Paige sought out Bella, "or you?".

Bella smiled, someone standing up for her? There was someone once, but he was gone now, and even so would he have in this situation? Probably not, he'd have seen the potential, the training, the adventure of it. She hadn't needed anyone to stand up for her, not then, not now, she was happy where she was, as strange as it was. It seemed that Paige though everyone felt as she did about this line of work, or was it just section she was so adamant about? It had been unlike Paige to kick up a fuss like that, especially with the veiled references to section, in front of the kids and Declan. In the weeks of training with her fellow Irishman she knew him well enough to know there'd be questions. And how would she field them. Perhaps she should direct him to Paige, it's serve her right. She was the one with the issues.

The trees whispered in the rain, but nothing else moved, the road was impassable and this sitting here was just a precaution, but necessary all the same.

Of course Bella just knew that Paige would see that she'd taken the side of the job, a job her colleague operative…agent, hates. It wasn't that at all, but they wouldn't get that. Bella's loyalty was with the team and all its members and if something like that goes wrong then the team and its members are in danger when they get back to base. Did Paige understand that? There had been so many mistakes recently that more would be dangerous, surely the blonde knew that.

She sat and wondered if she'd ever get the chance to truly show where her loyalties were, or if by following them she'd be seen as on the opposite side all the time. All this time she'd been so careful to make sure her trust and faith was only in herself, but it had changed, a little anyway. She still looked out for herself, and she was still her own first priority, however now…well now she worked with others and their safety was priority too. How did life get so complicated?

She'd spent so long making sure section couldn't play with her, making sure they had no leverage on her to use against her, and working on her own in the field that now she wasn't sure how to deal with it. She shrugged, no doubt she'd get used to it…eventually.

She didn't know how long she'd been sitting but she felt the rain ease off, it no long stung when it hit her. She stood up and stretched her legs and called the situation in "Alpha 1, the rains eased up significantly."
