There are leaders and then there are Rajahs. A alpha male to lead the wolf pack that our class was.He enjoyed a relatively stable tenure as our class representative despite some low intensity no-confidence motions over the years.
What may stick however is the accusation that he indulged in parenthood with various faculty members in exchange for considerations in his termwork. He provided the respectable and moderate face of our class to the management, which was often faced with the (richly deserved)option of suspending our class. Particulary noteworthy are the negotiations following damages to assorted class fixtures, however this will be debatable if and when our caution money is refunded.
A compulsive ladies man, more the merrier is his motto as far as women are concerned, be it the ones in class or his assorted flings over south bombay. (I wish I knew whom he was talking abt! ;-)
Verbally challenged in a unconventional sense, he's cursed with the illness of using 10 words (or more) where 1 would suffice. But he rationalises this as redundancy, an essential component of communication. To his credit you realise this deficiency only after spending a considerable amount of time with him, and by then his other attributes more than make up for this ghastly verbosity.
His seminars are a real joy to sit through as seamlessly integrates concepts with phenomena observable everyday much to the silent admiration of the concerned teacher. He can talk about most topics under the sun, at the drop of a hat, his personal favourite being telecom infrastructure in rural India. He sees himself as a Ivy League Messiah who will reach out to the poorest and when they demand bread from him, he will reply "Land Line, free incoming, 25p outgoing".
