During the past five years, SIEMBRA has worked with the Otomí people-providing training and business advise to encourage business planning, appropriate and effective financial control and record keeping for entrepreneurs. SIEMBRA also offers micro credit and assistance with marketing at the local, regional, and national levels.
The different communities of women have been intimately involved in the design of this project. We have designed and refined our methodology over the last five years using community members' feedback from our participatory training sessions and to reorient contents of SIEMBRA's teaching materials.Additionally, new members of the community have approached us so as to initiate new groups who demand our services, but due to resource constraints we have not been able to do so this year.
