Lake Lansing Park is a beautiful nature preserve with miles of hiking trails. My dog Abbey, and I took a mid-August tour and recorded some visual impressions (thumbs are loading below). I plan fall color updates, as well as a snow tour later.
Many different eco systems are represented. We've seen deer in the past, and not too many people. Dogs aren't allowed on the trails when it's snowy (cross country skiers take exception). Wear bright colors in and around hunting season. Dogs should wear dayglo vests (get 'em at Meier). There is a lot of nearby gunfire at that time. No joke. Play it safe, and enjoy!
Directions: From Abbott and Grand River. Travel north on Abbott Road to Lake Lansing Road. Turn Right on Lake Lansing. When you reach Marsh Road, turn left. Bear to your right on Lake Dr. After a bit, sign for park entrance appears to the right. Entrance is directly opposite to the left. Drive to the trail head, get out, and start walking. There're usually maps of the trails in a bin at the trail head. Otherwise, follow the posted color indicators.
