Platis Yialos

Platis Gialos means long beach. And realy is a very long beach, from the longest in Cyclades. Here also it used to be lots of potery workshops. Still today some are operating. On the top of the hill behind Plati Gialos the is the "Monasery of Vouno" with beautiful view to the bay.

Platis Gialos is very busy during the day when lots of visitors are coming to spend the day. The beach is nice for swimming.Lots of restaurants along the beach. There is a large choise of rooms and hotels.Here also the Greek prime minister spents his holidays. The distance from Apollonia is 15 kilometres. At night is more quite but still very alive.
