Share Wars

Help :

When Share Wars opens, it shows the prices and the shareholding of players in the 6 companies. You don't have to (and you shouldn't) enter anything in this initial screen.

Start:

Click on the Start button to begin. The screen for the 1st player opens up. Here, you can enter your choices in the Buy and Sell columns. You will be shown the total cost of your purchases. Remember that your purchases should not exceed your cash. If you need more cash, take a loan from the bank. Enter the amount you need against the New Loans figure. You can also pay back loans at anytime by entering the sum against the Pay column

Next:

After you finish entering your choices, come back to the main window. You can do this by minimising the window or switching on the taskbar in Windows '95. Please don't close the window. Now click the Next button. This brings up the screen for the next player. After each player has entered his choices, the Next button has to be clicked. After all players have finished, the Next button brings up the screen for the price changes.

Skip All:

Use the Skip All button to change the prices of the shares without making any changes in your share-holding.

Help:

The Help button opens this window (as you'd have guessed).

End Game:

The End Game button shows the final positions of the players and shows the Winner. The winner is player with the highest Net Worth.

New Game:

True to its name, this button allows you to play another round of this beautiful game. Remember to click the End Game button first to see who the winner is for that round.

Web :

The Web button opens a new browser window for you to surf and download all the goodies on the web while playing Share Wars.

Rules :

The Rules button brings up the official rules of the game, which you have got to strictly adhere to (remember, I'll be watching).

Net Worth = Cash + Shares - Loans.

Net Worth is the most important figure in Share Wars. The winner is the player having the highest Net Worth.

Loans and Interest :

You can take loans to cover the shortage of cash while buying shares. However your total loans should not exceed your Net Worth. Enter the amount of loans required in the New Loans box. Loans will grow at a compounded rate of 10 % per round. To pay loans, enter the amount opposite the Pay space.

Share Wars has graphs for a quick view of the changes taking place during each round. These graphs will be shown during each round (positions of the players and price changes).
