Living Room
From the entry one enters the
living
room through a graceful
archway.
The
floor is covered with over a half inch of padding and a
plush fourty-four ounce nylon carpet, fawn in
color.
The
custom designed cathedral
picture window is made of
redwood sash and industrial thermo-pane glass, ninety-two
inches in height and one-hundred and fourty- four inches
wide, including two operable side windows with screens and
solid brass hardware. Once again, this was designed to
maximize optimum passive solar efficiency.
The
fabric on the walls in the entry and conversation area
continues throughout the living room.
The
perimeter walls are tongue and groove redwood and the
triangles are mahogany fir trim. This room is open to the
bedroom areas above.
There
are two accent lights close to the floor, two adjustable
brass lights which are time controlled above the picture
window, and thirty-one custom designed and made light
fixtures on the mahogany ceiling with two and one half watt
bulbs with a fifty year life. They can be controlled from
this room or from a panel next to the master bed. There are
also stereo speaker jacks in this area.
The
cathedral window is enhanced with a clear heart redwood
valance and an off- white pleated "Verosol" shade. A
triangle sky light is located just above the cathedral
window.
Formal Dining Room and Third
Bedroom
From the living room one enters
the formal
dining room through a
matching archway by stepping down on to a floor covered with
Italian tile. The tile has several designs that have been
combined into a custom layout. The basic color is in a warm
terra- cotta.
The
custom designed and made windows are made from redwood sash
and industrial thermo-pane glass as are all windows
throughout the home. The two center windows are operable
with brass hardware. This window is enhanced with a clear
heart redwood valance with a rose colored pleated "Verosol"
shade.
Four
solid brass spot lights are located just above the window
which are on a dimmer. A phone jack is located below the
window sill.
The
custom cotton wall fabric is continued through the dining
room and bedroom.
An oak folding door separates the
dining room from the bedroom.
The
plush fawn carpet covers the bedroom floor into the
closet.
