LET US DO ALL IN OUR POWER TODAY TO BE WISER, MORE LOVING, MORE CONSIDERATE OF OTHERS.

I have good news for everybody! Last month I stted about two of our members going into the hospital for surgery. Now I can tell you that they are both at their homes, doing fine, and both expect to attend our meeting on Sunday. This is the kind of news I like to print. Virginia and Bill - congratulations!!

Just a few bits about our Big Show in November -

  1. The ads in the catalogue are to be the same price as last year. See Ruth Mitchell aobut arranging for one.
  2. The raffle is to be the same as last year.
  3. The judges have all accepted.

The Lakewood Park in Sunnyvale has been reserved for our annual picnic in July. You will be glad to hear that Mr. Gene Hall (a great friend of many of our club members) won $50. in the drawing at the AFA convention in San Francisco, and immediately donated to our club. It was decided to use it to buy special raffle prizes (or one) for the picnic raffle. Good thinking!!

And speaking of the AFA, there is a good possibility of our being offered a chance to get in on a special rate to the National Convention in August in Las Vegas for only $34.00 one-way! If you think you might be interested in going, and making use of this offer - please tell me soon.

Glenn Mitchell will be the speaker at our April meeting. By popular request he will be discussing COCKATIELS - similar to the speech he gave at the AFA Conv.

The Bird Raffle Donors for this April meeting are: Lona & Ed Schmalz, Dan & Vivian Gamma, and Frank Tavares.

We have four new members:
Ron Mercer, canaries
Gil Miranda, roller canaries
M/M Joseph Fanza, canaries & finches
Mrs. Johnette Tye, Canaries

Please copy these names onto your 1980 roster.

There are a couple of dates that you better get down on your calendars:
April 25, the next Board meeting at Ralph's house at 7:30.
May 18, Our next meeting - date changed because of Mother's Day
September 13 & 14 - Annual Feather show at the Mayfield Mall

I hope all of you enjoyed this newsletter. This type of printing cannot possibly be done on the machine which the club owns. When we bought the machine we thought we were doing right. The salesman said it would print up to 125 copies. It doesn't! It never did! But we have kept it beyond the warranty date, so now we have to pursue something else! Please give me your opinions.

Let's acquire the dignity in our newsletter that we have in our club ratings.

Thank you

Note from 2005 editor: This newsletter was apparently printed on a copier, not the blue mimeograph of the other issues of this era.
