Next Board Meeting: 7:30 P.M Home of Ralph Barnes. Friday, August 3.

PROGRAM: Pat McMullan will bring a show-and-tell lesson in genetics by using one of this year's breeding pairs and their 7 unlikely looking offspring for the first part of the program AND THEN: YOU folks will provide the second part by NOW writing down the questions you've wanted to ask and haven't had the chance. Or writing down the problems you've run into this year and want to know how to avoid next year. Sign 'em or not, we don't care. We'll have a box on the front table for you to drop the questions in as you arrive. Then, well read the questions or comments aloud and find someone in the group who has the answer. If we don't get to all the questions this time, we'll hold them and keep at it until all are answered. The question box could well become a permanent part of the meetings if you will all cooperate by keeping it filled. That way, the Board members won't leave each meeting feeling that we've neglected someone who really wanted some help with something.

ANXIETY NOTE: Bill Cooper is currently in Veteran's Admin. Hosp. in San Francisco and seriously ill. Cards will reach him addressed there. V.A. says he doesn't have AIDS - but they found a brain tumor!

FOR SALE: Mary Schreiber will sell most of the canaries and cockatiels left after the sale of her pet shop, wholesale prices to club members.

SHOW INFO: Fresno Canary & Finch Club, October 26, 27, 28 at Hacienda Inn on Clinton Avenue in Fresno. Judges: Color-bred canaries: Joe Gordon. Type canaries: Mark Whitker. Finches: Ed Gecsek. Hookbills: Joe Krader. English Budgies: John "Vic" deVictoria.

I spoke with John Boswell on the phone the other night and obtained a list of judges for the G.G.A.S. show but the house cleaners were here yesterday and my carefully guarded slip of paper with that information on it has disappeared! Have spent two hours looking for it off and on this P.M. and I now give up. If someone from that club will take pity on me, please, and send along he list of judges and other show info, I will be most grateful.

FOR SALE: Pacific wire breeding cages 17" x 11" x 9 ¾, $7.00 each. George Santos. If you ran short this year, now's the time to pick up a few extra for next year.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT:
I would just like to take this opportunity to express my thanks for all the help we had at the Bar B Que! I really feel it was one of the BEST we have ever had. Not only did Chairman Ron Mercer do a terrific job and the "cooks", Leonard Quieto, Ron Mercer and Bud Reller (and the terrific grill obtained for us by Bud Reller) and the salad makers (Carolyn Hansel and crew) but the raffle was outstanding. Margaret, you outdid yourself with the great prizes and the Sunflower Seed guessing. It was really an outstanding affair. Thanks too to all you un-named people who brought goodies for the snack and dessert tables.

And just a word about the last 2 meetings. Again I would like to thank Margaret Roche and Pat McMullan for great programs and raffles. It has really been fun and the enthusiasm has been catchy, believe me.

For our August meeting, Margaret is coming up with another grand raffle along with the regularly donated birds and other things from our members.

Again, my sincere thanks to all mentioned and unmentioned people, who have really made our last 2 meetings such great successes.

Joe Gordon
