Dear Members,

Once again on our program we will have workshop sessions. One each for canaries, finches, and hookbills. These groups have been very interesting and informative in the past. This is a good way to have your individual questions answered. If you have bird problems come to this meeting and someone will help solve them.

NO, NO's. The State of Calif. is enforcing the possession of Java Rice birds and Quaker parakeets. They are illegal to possess and will be confiscated.

This is the last chance to be listed in the club roster. Dues are $12.00 per family per year and to be paid by Feb. 15, 1976. Any changes as to the type of birds you are raising, if it is different from last year, send to Delilah Quieto or bring to the next meeting.

First time in San Francisco since 1939 the Pacific Poultry Breeders Ass'n. will have their 28th Annual Midwinter Show. It will be at the Cow Palace, Feb. 7 & 8, 1976. They are expecting over 2,000 birds and will have educational information and commercial exhibits.

Ca-na'ry=bird, A well known cage bird, a kind of finch, Serinus canarius (or Carduelis canaria). No cage birds are more popular than canaries. They are named for the Canary Islands, the home of their wild ancestors. There are still wild canaries on these islands. Canaries became cage birds more than 400 years ago. They were taken from their home island to many other parts of the world. Today there are about 50 varieties of canaries.
