Santa Clara Valley Canary & Exotic Bird Club
March 11, 1973
Pot-luck: 1 P.M. Meeting 1:45 P.M.
Santa Clara High School Cafetorium
corner of Washington & Bellomy Sts., Santa Clara
Dear Members,
For those of you who are not able to come to the meetings, we'd like you to know the interest in the club has been tremendous. Last month at the meeting we had 58 people attending. This is really encouraging and do hope the good attendance will continue and hope sometime maybe you will be able to come.
The Treasurer's report from the show expenses showed the actual cost of our show last Jan. was $1,422.61, our monies received at the show were $862.00. This shows that we were $560.61 in the red for the show. The only reason we are telling you this is so when we have our pot-lucks and raffles you'll do your part by participating in these activities. This is how we make our money to cover the show deficit.
This is the last reminder about dues. They are to be paid by April 1st to continue to receive the newsletter and be on the membership list to be mailed out next month.
Two of our Judges for our Dec. show have been contacted and have accepted; Hank Johnson of Fresno will do the Exotic Birds & Randy Grisco of Los Angeles will do the Type Birds. Gino Abbate of New Jersey was contacted but because of conflicting dates will be unable to Judge the Red Factors. Further contacts are being made for the Red Factor Judge.
Bands are still available from Leonard Quieto.
Sam Polito would like to buy Red Factor show cages.
Raffle and pot-luck as usual. Please bring something you'd like to win at the raffle. Those whose last name begins A-H, bring a salad; I-P, bring a hot dish; Q-Z, bring a desert. Please bring your own tableservice (plate, knife, fork & spoon), we are not to use the school equipment.
If you have any items to trade or sell, bring them to the meeting, we may have a buyer for you, or feel free to call me and I will include your wants in the newsletter.
People are still calling for birds so if you have any for sale, let us know.
Sure sorry to hear about the accident Dan Gama was in this week. He lost a number of teeth and has some bad bruises and cuts. Hurry and get well!
Hope to see many of you at the meeting Sunday the 11th.
