I am now opening subscription for "A Saucerful of Echoes, Vol I."

"A Saucerful of Echoes" (ASOE) is a tribute to the band Pink Floyd performed and produced by and for members of the Echoes mailing list. ASOE will ultimately be a set of three (potentially four) volumes, each volume covering a particular era of Pink Floyd's music.

Volume I, the part which is now being treed, covers the years from the dawn of Pink Floyd through "Obscured by Clouds." It will require a 100-minute cassette.

You can read a lot more about ASOE (all 3 volumes) by visiting the "A Saucerful of Echoes" web site at http://memes.com/~tristandcw/asoe. Details about each track on Volume I are available there, including comments from the artists. You can also download short .WAV samples of many of the tracks on ASOE vol I at the web site.

Those who contributed to Vol I will receive a copy directly from Rick; no trading is needed. You contributors have done your parts, and thanks again!

Incidentally, when Rick and I first started ASOE, we said we would send a copy to the band. But considering the... er... "uncomfortably interesting" fax bear received today, I think that might be a mistake. Think so? I think we'd better forget that plan.
