VS-TrackEdit system requirements

These programs should work with any Macintosh with System 7 or later and a colour monitor. They were developed on a PowerMac 7300/200 running System 7.6.1 using a MIDI Express interface and OMS 2.33, but have also been tested on various other configurations including MacOS 8 and PowerBooks. They may not be compatible with Virtual Memory switched on. A large monitor is an advantage but not a necessity, the windows all fit within 640 x 480 pixels.

OMS version 2.2 or later is required (if you don't already have OMS, you will find it here). The programs do not work with the FreeMIDI emulation of OMS, however there do not appear to be any problems with having OMS and FreeMIDI installed together so long as certain settings are made (see documentation, or the MOTU website technical assistance).

Any MIDI interface which is compatible with OMS should be suitable. For more complex interfaces such as the MIDI Time Piece series which can filter and redirect MIDI data it may be necessary to experiment with the routing in order to get the MTC and MMC program functions to work properly (see documentation).

Original VS-880
The VS-880 must have system version 2.7 or later (V-Expanded). Otherwise some commands may not work correctly. The latest system updates can be downloaded from the Roland US website.

VS-880-EX
(backlit display, EZ-routing) Should work with all existing system versions. Please note that I do not myself have a VS-880-EX and therefore I am very unlikely to find and correct any remaining bugs unless they are reported to me.
