It all started some time back in 1998 when Sonny Fong was visiting Vancouver. While there, he had the opportunity to meet up with Kim Wilson. At one point, one of them brought up the topic of a reunion.

They called friends and their friends called up friends. The wheels were set in motion..

Some eleven and a half years later, the weekend of January 30-31st, 1999 was chosen to hold an unofficial reunion.

Those fortunate few who were able to attend the 2-day gatherings that weekend from the Class of '87 were:

  • Peter Roberts - In from Whistler, BC.
  • Sonny Fong - In from Quebec City.
  • Tommy Lee
  • Tina Xenos - In from New York.
  • Tracy Verrall

The meeting place was officially set for the Weinstein & Gavinos Restaurant on Crescent St. with reservations for 12 waiting.. It was pretty much whoever shows up.. well, shows up.

Others who were supposed to show up that weekend but were unable to make it included Bruce Kerney, Nicholas Deligny, Nigel Williams, Peter Pantazopoulos & some others.

Others who were in attendence were friends, family & soon-to-be-family. For the life of me, I don't remember more than a few of their names. Like Tommy said when he walked into the restaurant and shook these strangers hands, "I thought that it had been so long that I didn't recognize some people anymore."

After eating, we all headed across the street over to Thursdays to dance the evening away.

Towards the end of that weekend, it was desire that was shared amongst all to have other reunions of this sort every couple of years or so.

It was nice to see everyone again. Hope it's not another 11 1/2 years until the next one.
