    What's new:
  • Text for normal audio CDs. You can use your own database. It will be displayed on the LCD.
  •  Cross-select a song during play. Note this works only with the remote.


    • 09.12.99:
     Text for normal audio CDs is working right now.  So please fill your cdplayer.ini file to your belongings.
     This version will be put on the web in the next days....

     I am back from holidays......
     The new Version of MAP is coming soon!

    17.09.99:
     New version of MAP-software is on the way. I got many questions regarding use of MAP with a 16x2 LCD.
     The new software includes handling of different LCDs. So you will be able to use a 16x2,
     20x2 or 40x2 character LCD. But I prefer like before a 40x2 LCD.
     Which kind of LCD you will use has to be specified in the file map.ini.
     Note that scrolling of a 16x2 or 20x2 Display is only possible if you have the IR-hardware - because the scrolling function
     is implemented in the rcmap.exe program. This program runs as TSR (terminate and stay resident). The TSR could only be
     started if the IR-hardware is recognized!

     I will go on holidays from 19.9. - 10.10.  :) !!  So the new software will be available when I am back, sorry but ....
     

    23.08.99:
     New picture of the IR-Hardware can be found at Build your own.
     Ready made IR-Hardware can now be ordered at me for 13 US$.
     Complete MAP-kit can be ordered (full software and IR-hardware) for 30 US$ includes postals.

    17.08.99:
     Minor bugfixes in the software.  Price list and new software is added to  Downloads .
     Software have Revision 2.02. Please try it and report bugs to me. Thanks to all

    09.08.99:
     A little mistake in the IR-logic was corrected. I added a layout for the IR-part.
     Look at  Build your own.

    03.08.99:
     The new hardware for the IR part is ready!! It works well. Why I changed the design:

  •  Now you are able to use nearly any standard remote transmitter with  MAP!
  • The design is much more easier than the older one. It is attached to the serial port.
  • Lot people has problems to get the components for the IR part. All components (no print) for the IR part

    • costs 20 DM ( $10 ) and are available at me. I am looking for a print manufactor!!!
  • It is cheaper.
  • very flexible - you can use the hardware also for other programs. So you have the possibility to control

    • any program remote. Sure also window$ programs.
  • You control MAP with keyboard and IR at the same time
    •  Only little software changes were neccessary, regarding the IR part. So fbtsr.com is no more needed. Insteed there is another TSR
     called mapir.exe.
     The new MAP software has revision 2.00.  Look at Build your own  for instructions and  Downloads  for new software download.
     

    02.08.99:
     At this moment I am working on a NEW DESIGN for the IR remote part!! This new design will be more easy to build, cheaper and
     really more flexible.  You can use nearly any standard remote transmitter. The new small hardware will be attached to the serial port.
     Also it will be possible to order all components at me.
     When I am ready with this  I will inform you - I think in the next 2 weeks .........

    19.07.99:
     I put the ordering information of the SAA3049 to Build your own
     Is there anybody who wants to make the PCB for the logic??  Let me know. I don't have time and equipment to produce it.

    First public release of MAP Version 1.10. Due to overwhelming emails it takes some time to answer to all, but i will do...

    15.06.99:
    I put all components of this project together and tried it in my home stereo system. Everything work pretty good.
