How are you insuring that these products are not shipped when they expire? Do you have a date before the exp date that you cannot ship after?

You do this with "Shelf Life Expiration Date (SLED)" settings.
The SLED check is activated in Inventory Management first.

Subsequently for all materials with SLED requirements, in the storage view of material master, enter the values in the following fields:
1) Min rem shelf life ___ in days,
2) Total shelf life ___ in days.
Entering a value for (2) will allow you to enter the production date of material. Leaving it blank allows you to directly enter the expiry date of the material. Either way the system automatically calculates the expiry date and will issue a warning if the number of days in (1) is not satisfied. You can change this message to ERROR and ensure that materials with insufficient shelf life is not accepted at the GR stage itself.

Those materials that satisfy the above condition and are accepted in the Warehouse should be placed in a storage type with a Removal Strategy - "SLED".

Under the WM menu, you have a SLED report option under materials-evaluations, where you can see a report of all materials with SLED in 3 different colour coded categories.

Now you would assume that the WM with SLED removal strategy ensures that it will not allow you to pick/ship expired materials. Well it does'nt seem to work. It only seems to suggest the oldest quant. That's why I told you of the above report option. I welcome any solutions to the above hitch.
