Picture This is a view with the lenses removed. You can see the Basic Stamp II in the center. The CdS cells are arranged in the pattern of a real eye. The right side is for visual interpretation, and the left eye is used for range finding using the parallax effect.
Picture This is the front view of the low resolution vision system, originally concepted by Kevin Ross of SRS. I adapted it to the Basic Stamp II. It follows movement 2 feet away. Eventually, I will mount a servo which will move the head up and down to complement the side to side movement.
