The darkness of this total eclipse was of course observed by lots of Norwegian because it was so close to home.
Peoples from different part of the world had gather on a hill in the eastern part of Finland
not far from Illumantsi close to the Russian boarder and so was I and my friends.
The totality started in the early morning with lots of clouds and lasted approx. one and a half minute.(We did not see it.)
This was the closest we came to totality. The clouds allowed me to take this direct picture of the sun. Telescope/Camera : 0.10m f/10 Meade Schmith Cassegrain. Exposure time and film : 1/1000 sec. on Fujichrome 100. |

I waited for the totality then I started to take some pictures. The main thing is not to take a lots of pictures but to observe the phenomena. I used my 7x50mm binocular most of the time. |

The media covered the event too. After our visit in Yogyakarta, we traveled to Bali and stayed there for many days. |
