TEXT ONLY: Pornography Bypass
& System Speedups
Ok, now that that's out of the way, i am going to show you tid bits
of what is going on. The first way not to be emailed pornography, is
to NEVER give out your real email address. That means, Never submit
it to places. (News groups, companies, people, Ect). So, how should
you submit? Well, I suggest getting a FREE email account, like Yahoo,
and then using it to submit so you can get your email. This way, if
there's too much junk mail coming in through there, then just delete
it. Also, if you travel, you can then download your personal messages
WITHOUT worrying about having unwanted junk and pornography messages.
(Trust me, they get annoying)
Now, Beyond this, you will probably STILL get the messages, but not
in your personal account.. how do you bypass this? Well, i don't know
about Netscape, but if they have a filtering, it will work on that too.
Same for the other ones, Filter out the following areas. (before
deleteing everything, do a quick scan to see if you recodnize any
names that you know in your deleted items, before permenently deleting
them or you might miss an old friend that is just saying 'hi, how are
you doing' kind of thing.)
If your filter system has a bit of 'This' AND 'this' or 'This that'
without 'there' then the filtering could be more powerful, and would
not delete the important messages you want to keep..
Also, if you have all the junk coming through your FREE account
(annonymous?) Then, it would be a good idea to have in all the fields
that say 'TO' or 'RECIEVER' or something that says YOU are the person
getting the mail, set it to your free account, so most other problems
will be ignored.
Ok, Next, the list. I have composed this list, and it's not complete
but it has gotten a good chunk of the junk off, if you have a pattern
develope that includes certain words (Amature, CUM, waiting for) Ect,
then add those to your filter list, it will be quite complete soon
enough.. But this won't get rid of them all, only what patters we
have noticed, the obvious ones, and the somewhat sneaky ones, until
they decide to stop their stupid work (which they won't stop any time
soon)

This list isn't very big, but it's effective.. Over 30 messages i got,
it filtered out 20 of them, only a few (which weren't really anything else
i deleted manually.)
Now, the rest of the part. Popup Windows? Well, that's easy to bypass.
Before i proceed, i will give instructions for you to do, and other things
you CAN do, but that is your choice.
for IE (I don't use netscape, so i don't know)
Go to Settings
IE 4.X VIEW/INTERNET OPTIONS/SECURITY
IE 5.X EDIT/INTERNET OPTIONS/SECURITY
At this point, it has some options, select CUSTOM and then go into the
Settings. This will give a list of different informations that you can
activate/Deactivate.
ACTIVE X: This is a set of special protocols (Kinda a scripting language?)
It is what makes all the popup windows. I personally disabled
all of these options, it will also disable other things, but
if you can get to where you need to go, it will be fine.
Recommended: DISABLE ALL
Java: A scripting Language (high level) that is more secure, and works
on ALL emulators (supposably). It is nice, it is suppost to use
only it's own resources. But it takes a lot of memory and time
to run the scripts. They are good for simple programs, Chat,
internet games, and the like, as long as nothing has to be saved.
Recommended: High Safety
Scripting: This is a quick made scripting language, i think it's a lot like
Visual basic, and CAN take control if you let it. It works as
a regular program on the computer and is one of the primary bugs
in some of the EMAIL viruses. Disable this, and all those problems
are gone (Since EXPRESS uses IE settings, except for the 'preview
pictures')
Recommended: DISABLE ALL
This is just a guide, don't worry. If you have questions, look it up in the
manual, or write me, or microsoft. I will help however i can..
Speedups:
Ok, now for a few speedups.
One of the primary parts of the internet is pictures, and making things
look nice, but i have seen a single picture, was made with 30 pictures, each
a part of the larger piece, so does this make all the pictures a little
smaller? I don't have a clue. But here's a bit on it all.
IE 4.X VIEW/INTERNET OPTIONS/ADVANCED
IE 5.X EDIT/INTERNET OPTIONS/ADVANCED
Notify when download's Complete:
This is a silly option. It won't close the file or program until you click
OK, and then it's gone. Disable this, and you won't get the popup when it's
complete.
MultiMedia:
A nice set if options, i suggest you set it up this way.
Show Pictures :OFF
Play animations:ON
Play Videos :OFF
Play sounds :OFF
Smart Dithering:ON
Ok, here's why, If the show pictures is OFF, then it won't automatically
show the pictures. Don't skip out already!! When the pictures aren't loaded,
they aren't saved.. saving you LOTS of space, and LOTS of downloading time.
this is a MAJOR speedup on the internet.
Why did i put Animations on and pictures off? well, that enabled will show
animated GIF's, and play them, otherwise their first picture is shown, and
then locked. (boring at times, but useful..)
Play Videos & Play Sounds:
These ALSO use a lot of space and take time. With these off, you won't have
to wait, only the actual page (with text) will load, and it is then easy.
Smart Dithering:
THIS is a small slower algorythmn. It takes a picture, and translates it to
your current 256 pattlete. Or.. Makes the picture look ok on lower color
resolutions.
Cookies:
I HIGHLY suggest you disable this, unless you absolutely have to. It will
allow ANY and ALL sites to access the cookies, which are a little window to
your computer and your life. Anything you looked up before is in there,
anything you do, anyone you talk to, information you pass on, is hidden
there.
If you have cookies on, CLEAN YOUR TEMPORARY FILES ONCE A WEEK.. This is
a simple way to keep information from being too much, and too open.
