In this mission you will create a lesson plan in the ClarisWorks word processing program. Choose one of the web sites you found in Mission 3 that corresponds with the CEF and write a lesson plan. In the lesson plan outline how you will teach the subject using the web site. Create an assignment for the students to do on the computer. Remember, students can work in groups of 2-5 even if there is only one computer in your classroom. Here is an example of a lesson plan based on a social studies topic that uses a web site to teach the topic. When you are in the lesson plan site there is a URL (address) under the introduction activity that isn't linked properly. Simply type the URL into the location box at the top of the screen and you'll get to a web site filled with activities. (Here is the link to find other lesson plan ideas.)
Save your lesson plan on a disk. Make sure the URL of the web site you used is included. Once your plan is done, copy and paste it in an email to me. I will post well done and well thought out plans in this site in the future.
Note: To open ClarisWorks simply click on the start button in the bottom left hand corner of the page, go to programs, click on ClarisWorks. When the dialog box comes up click on word processing. You can do this with the internet still up and running on you computer.
Note: To save to a disk from ClarisWorks click on File in the menu bar, go to Save As. At the top of the Save dialog box it will say ClarisWorks 5.0, click here and choose 3 1/2 Floppy (A:). Then name your document in the space at the bottom of the dialog box and click the save button. You should hear the computer saving to the floppy disk.
