You were just an ordinary doll until one day the evil Master Hand
plucked you out of your calm dwelling in the toy box and brought you to life
and made you fight against your other friends (who were also dolls) whom you
used to play with when your human master was around. In order to restore
the peaceful way of life that was before you must now battle thru all of
your friends to reach the Master Hand and destroy him, only by doing this
will you restore the peace you and your friends once enjoyed.

C H A R A C T E R S
===========================================================================
1. Mario
AHHH....the internationally famous plumber. Mario's distinct trademark
jump is one of his special moves in this game. This humble plumber has
been around since 1987 and has starred in at least 15 of his own games...at
least 15 you say? Well I don't want to sit around and count EVERY FREAKING
GAME he has been in so chill!
---
2. Luigi
He is Mario's brother, and he has won the award for "Number Of Times A
Sidekick Has Been Passed Over To Star With His Partner In A Video Game." He
is one of the 4 hidden characters (more on how to get the hidden characters
later) his jump attack is much more powerful than Mario's if executed at the
right moment (execute it while the opponent is touching or next to you).
All of Luigi's attacks are identical to Mario's except they are more
powerful. The fact that Luigi is ACTUALLY IN THIS GAME makes me happy!
---
3. Donkey Kong
A grandson of the original Donkey Kong, who was Mario's former enemy in the
NES and Atari classic Donkey Kong, is very powerful. He has brute strength
and several DEVASTATING moves and smash attacks. The down side to him is
that he is very bulky and, therefore, very slow. I almost always choose
him to fight because he has powerful moves and cannot be knocked away as
easy as the other characters can. This descendant of the Kong Clan hangs
around his home, Congo Jungle, fighting Kremlings and having fun with his
favorite nephew, Diddy. Also, DK is the only one who can carry barrels
and crates around.
---
4. Samus
The greatest bounty in the galaxy, Samus Aran. She fights with superhuman
power given to her by her hi-tech suit. Samus Aran is from the Metroid
series and has starred in 3 games so far. I choose her if I am going up
against Donkey Kong. Her Charge Beam special is just about as strong as
Donkey Kong's Giant Punch.
---
5. Fox McCloud
The head of the mercenary force known as Star Fox. With his Arwings and
Landmaster tank he has foiled the plans of Andross many times. Most of
his special attacks give fairly weak damage except for the Fire Fox, he
also has a very innovative move called the Force Field. The Force Field
will deflect any item, weapon, or projectile thrown while it is activated.
---
6. Pikachu
The world-famous PokTmon. Pikachu has a wide range of elextric attacks.
He is very small and somewhat easy to knock away. When you try to use his
special attack called Quick Attack to get back up from being knocked off
make sure you are to fall on top of a platform; and pressing any direction
on the analog very quickly after pressing the buttons for the quick attack
will make you travel in the direction you pressed with your analog stick.
His Thunder special attack is very special at knocking away enemies above
him in a jump or standing on a platform. His Thunder Ball special attack
can travel up and down walls making it ideal to hit enemies hanging on the
edge of a stage.
---
7. Link
The hero of the Legend Of Zelda series. His Master Sword makes his smash
attacks a bit more powerful, he can also throw bombs at enemys. His
Spin Attack is great for knocking a damaged opponent off of the screen.
One thing he isn't good at is getting back up from being knocked off. The
boomerang has very little power but it can screw up an opponent coming in
at an angle in the air.
---
8. Kirby
More than a cute ball of pink puff, Kirby has the ability to suck in and
then copy a special move of an opponent. He can also transform himself into
a stone to avoid damage from enemys but they can still throw him while he is
in this state. The Final Cutter is an awesome display of acrobatics and
it can hit an enemy far away. His Final Cutter and Stone special attacks
are great from hitting enemies from above espeically after you ahve been
almost knocked off the screen. He can float in the air by pressing one of
the C-Buttons continously while in the air.
---
9. Yoshi
Yoshi's attacks are involved with the egg. The first special attack is
called the Egg Throw. He throws an Egg and when it hits an opponent it
explodes. The second attack is called the Egg Lay. He slurps up an enemy
then puts them into an egg, during this tiem Yoshi can attack the enemy
without the enemy doing nothing or going anywhere, the enemy may be able
to break out of it easily though. The last and most powerful attack is
the Body Bomb attack. Yoshi jumps into the air and then drives himself into
the ground causing damage for the unfortunate ones who are directly below
him, just be careful not to thrust yourself into the void at the bottom of
the screen. He is temporary invincible while hovering in the air (after
executing a mid-air jump by pressing Up on the analog or a C-button in the
air).
---
10. Jigglypuff
The second Pok,mon to be included in this game. Jigglypuff's attacks range
from making himself fall asleep (some attack...yeesh!) to making other
opponents fall asleep if they touch him during a period of about 3 or 4
seconds. I would never use this character he has no good special attacks...
(other than his sleep attack IF you have an opponent dumb enough to touch
Jigglypuff during that time)...and he is the easiest to knock away. The
only good attack he has is the Dash Punch. He can float in the air like
Kirby by pressing one of the C-Buttons continously right after a jump. The
only good thing I can say about this character is that he has a powerful
throw.
---
11. Captain Falcon
The main character of the F-Zero racing game series. This character is very
fast when he runs (be careful not to run off of the edge). He has a special
move called the Falcon Punch that can be very devastating if you learn to
time it correctly. His Falcon Air move can come down hard on top of an
opponent if executed in the air, if executed on the ground you can make a
fast getaway from an enemy but you also run the risk of falling of the edge
of the stage. His Falcon Throw special move is a thrilling display of
acrobatics, if he catches an opponent on his upward flight they will go
flying, you can also use the Falcon Throw move to get back up from being
knocked off.
---
12. Ness
The little boy from Onett who thwarted the evil intentions of alien master
Gigyas from the future. He is the main character of the Earthbound series
(Mother series in Japan). His special moves are from the Earthbound game
for the SNES. They are: PK Thunder, he emits a ball of thunder (you can
use this attack to get back up from being knocked away if you direct the
ball back into Ness by using the Analog Stick...this can also make for a
POWERFUL attack if you hit an opponent while you are flying from the blast;
PK Fire, a fire blast that if it hits an opponent will burn him/her
continously; PK Magnet, a spell that can absorb projectiles fired from the
enemy (it cannot absorb thrown objects it can only absorb things like Fox's
Fox's Laser and Mario & Luigi's Fireball attack) and use the energy it
absorbed to improve your health.

The controls in this game are quite simple, which is one of the reasons why
I love it. Here is the lowdown of each button and what it does:
B: This button executes your characters first special move.
UP-ANALOG + B: Pressing and holding up on the analog and pressing B executes
your character's second special move.
DOWN-ANALOG + B: Pressing and holding down on the analog and pressing B
executes your characters second special move.
C-LEFT: This C-button or any of the C-buttons makes your character jump.
Pressing down on the analog while in the air pulls you back down to the
ground quickly, and by pressing C-LEFT again (or any other C-buttons) while
in the air lets you execute a mid-air jump.
LEFT-ANALOG or RIGHT-ANALOG: By pressing and holding left or right on the
analog you can move left or right.
Tap LEFT-ANALOG or Tap RIGHT-ANALOG: By tapping and holding left or right
on the analog you can run to the left or right.
DOWN-ANALOG: Press down on the analog while standing to duck press down on
the analog while in the air to return to the ground quickly.
UP-ANALOG: By pressing up on the analog you will jump, press up on the
analog again while in the air to jump again.
START: Pressing the START button will pause the game.
L: Pressing the L button will make your character go into his or her's
victory pose.
R: Pressing the R button will make you attempt to grab your enemy for a
throw after you attempted to grab them you will shield yourself. You can
also drop an item by pressing R. You can throw an item at an opponent by
pressing the analog in their direction and pressing R; tap the analog and
then press R immediately after to throw an item very hard. To throw an
enemy after you ahve grabbed them press left or right on the analog.
A: By pressing this button alone you will dish out a weak attack.
LEFT or RIGHT or DOWN or UP-ANALOG + A: Pressing and holding any of the four
directions on the analog and then pressing A will make you dish out a strong
attack.
Tap RIGHT or LEFT or DOWN or UP-ANALOG + A: By tapping any one of the four
directions on the analog stick and then by pressing A you will unleash a
smash attack, the most powerful attack (aside from specials of course).
Z: Press and hold this button to shield yourself. This button is more
effective to shield yourself than R because you will not attempt to grab
your opponent for a throw first. Tap left or right on the analog while
holding this buttons to dodge and roll left or right. Press Z as you
land from a jump or after being knocked off to resume your fighting stance
right away so the opponent can't hit you again while you are laid out on
the ground.
Z + A: Press and hold Z then press A to attempt to grab an enemy for a
throw.

===========================================================================
1) Mario's Special Moves
Red Fireball: Your basic fireball that Mario has trademarked since his days
in the first Super Mario Brother game. It causes about 6-7% damage. Use it
when an opponent is out of reach or jump up and use it in the air.
Jump: Mario's signature jump. Use it as a player if recovering from a knock
off or they are above you on a platform. It does about 13-15% damage if the
enemy is hit all the times possible. Also used if you are knocked off.
Mario Cyclone: A new move of Mario's making its debut. It's most useful
against the teams in the One-Player Mode since they go flying from the
slightest hit. It does about 13-15% damage if the enemy is hit all the times
possible.
2) Luigi's Special Moves
Green Fireball: A different flavor of Mario's fireball. It does about 5-6%
damage. Use it when an opponent is out of reach or jump up and use it in the
air.
Super Jump: This move is similar to Mario's except in that if you execute it
at close range (when you are next to your opponent) it will cause 19-25%
damage. Otherwise it will hit your foe only once for 1% damage. Use it as a
player is recovering from a knock off or they are above you on a platform.
Luigi Cyclone: A little more powerful than Mario's with one hit it causes
12-15% damage if executed at close range. This move can be used to get back
up after being knocked off.
3) Ness's Special Moves
PK Fire: Burn baby burn! This move burns an opponent several times for
around 22-24% damage. Best if done while coming down from a jump and your
enemy is across from you in the air.
PK Thunder: Fires a projectile that you can control with the analog joystick.
Pretty cool move! Direct the projectile back into you to go flying, and if
you hit your foe in your flight upwards of 20% damage will be done! This
move can be used to get up from a fall (if redirected back into you). If
this atttack hits an opponent as a projectile it will do 5-6% damage.
PK Magnet: This move if activated will absorb any projectile (such as a
fireball, or laser) shot at you and add to your health. It CANNOT absorb
bombs or thrown swords, guns, etc. However, it can absorbs laser blasts,
fire, stars (shot from the Star Rod), etc.
4) Yoshi's Special Moves
Egg Lay: This move will attempt to grab an enemy (using Yoshi's tongue) and
turn them into an egg for a short while, during that time you can attack
them with no fear of retribution; however, this move is easily broken out of
by pressing buttons like crazy on the controller by the victim. Do not use
this move on higher-level CPU foes, because they can break out of it easily.
This move may be useful if you are falling off the edge and want to take
someone with you by slurping them on your way to doom and turning them into
an egg.
Egg Throw: This move is a projectile that can be controlled to some extent
with the analog joystick. Again, as with most projectiles it is useful in
blasting an opponent who is above you. It causes 11-14% damage.
Body Bomb: The most powerful of all of Yoshi's attacks. It consists of him
jumping up then slamming back down into the ground, any enemies below him
will be hit for damage upwards of 14%. This move can be used in the middle
of a jump as well, use it to hit the enemy below you.
5) Donkey Kong's Special Moves
Giant Punch: This is the most powerful move of the game if fully-charged.
Press B to start charging and press B again to unleash a devastating punch.
If fully charged it can do up to 36% of damage. Best if charged up as soon
as you come back after being knocked off and are invincible, and use it
against someone who is wrapped in Yoshi's Egg Lay or use it in the middle of
a jump.
Spinning Kong: This move can be used to get up from a fall. This move is
also useful against the teams in the One Player Mode. It can cause 6-8%
damage per hit.
Ground Slap: Kong shows a display of his dominance the moment you execute
this move. This move is useful against enemys that are trying to jump up
to the platform you are on. Smack them as they are coming up, before they
get up to your level. Each smack of the hands causing between 8-10% damage.
6) Kirby's Special Moves
Swallow & Copy: Suck an opponent in and press B again to copy one of their
special attacks. The special attack you can copy will always be the one that
is executed by pressing the B button. You lose your ability to mimic one of
another player's moves as soon as you do your winning pose (press L) or are
smacked around too much.
Final Cutter: He gives you a chilling display of acrobatics and then he comes
down hard on you with a sword....ouch! This deadly graceful move is best
executed at close range for up to three hits. Or you can slo use it to slice
an opponent that is above you a bit. You can also use this move to get back
up from being knocked off. After your last slice of the sword a projectile
flys off and follows the ground for a while if any player is hit by it it
will cause 5-6% damage.
Stone: Kirby drops on top of his opponents in the shape of a brick. This
move can be used to protect yourself, but you are still vulnerable to
throwing in this state. This move is best used if you jump above someone
then use it. You can use this move to protect yourself from the acid in
Samus's stage. When you drop on top of someone it will cause between 15-20%.
7) Link's Special Moves
Boomerang Throw: Kind of a weak attack but ti can be used to keep someone
from getting back up after being knocked off. It causes 7-9% damage.
Spin Attack: This attack can hit enemies behind and in front of you for
12-16% damage. You can also use this attack to get back up from being
knocked off.
Bomb: If you throw this bomb strongly at someone it will explode on contact
for 12-13% damage, but if you throw it softly it will bounce off of the
enemy and give them only 5% damage. The weak throws can be used to throw a
bomb down so it explodes after a bit.
8) Fox's Special Moves
Laser: This attack is best used from a distance (it never has the ability
to send someone flying) and is even better if used in the air since there
isn't as long a pause in between shots in the air. When someone gets hit
by this laser it causes 5-6% damage. This attack can be reflected by the
force field.
Fire Fox: The strongest of all of Fox's attacks. You can use this move to
get back up from being knocked to the edge of the void. If someone is hit in
your flight then 12-16% damage will be done.
Force Field: This attack is used to reflect thrown projectiles and shots
from another enemy. It does damage if executed at close range, it does
4-5% damage and sends the enemy flying to the left or right.
9) Samus's Special Moves
Charge Beam: The second most powerful attack in the game. It also has to be
charged to full power if to be used at its best. It does 20-26% damage if
it is fully-charged.
Screw Attack: This attack is a lot like Mario's and Luigi's Cyclone. It
is best if used when an opponent is either at close range or above you on
a platform. If it hits for all times possible then the enemy will be
dealt 13-14% damage. This attack can also be used to get back up after
being knocked off.
Morph Bomb: Samus morphs into a ball and drops a bomb that explodes a few
seconds afterwords. This attack is best if used in the air above an
opponent since it will explode on hitting an enemy. It causes 7-9% damage.
10) Pikachu's Special Moves
Thunder Ball: Pikachu spits out a ball of electricity that can travel
across platforms or down walls until it finds an opponent, or until it
disappears. This move is good to use if someone is hanging on the edge if
you want to give them a bit more damage. It causes 6-7% damage.
Quick Attack: This move is only useful when it comes to getting back up
after being knocked off. Thus, it has no value as an attack. Use the
analog while executing this move to control where Pikachu goes.
Thunder: The most powerful of Pikachu's attacks. Its useful in a number
of situations including when an opponent is above you on a platform or
when you want to keep someone from getting back to teh stage after being
knocked off. At close range it does 12-16% damage, or it does 9% damage
otherwise.
11) Captain Falcon's Special Moves
Falcon Punch: This move and a lot of Flacon's move require good timing.
This punch is best if started in the air so that when he lands he will
punch his enemy on the ground. It causes 20-25% damage, quite a powerful
attack....on the same level with DK and Samus.
Falcon Throw: This move is best used if someone is above you on a platform
or coming down from a jump. This move can be used to get back up after
being knocked off. If you manage to grab then throw your opponent you'll
do 15-20% damage.
Falcon Air: This move can be either execute in the air or on the ground.
If you hit an enemy with this blazingly fast move you'll do 12-15% damage.
12) Jigglypuff's Special Moves
Dash Punch: Punch your enemy for about 10-13% damage. Best if used in
mid-air.
Sing: Attempt to put another player to sleep by singing. If they touch you
while you have musical notes sourrounding you, they will fall asleep.
Sleep: Fall asleep. BEST if only done while an enemy is up against you.
But by the time they are that close to you they will already have you in
a throw. If you do manage to pull this off, it will cause 20% damage.

T I P S & T R I C K S
==========================================================================
#1: When an enemy has been knocked off, get over to the edge to prevent
him from getting back up. Also, when he is hanging fron the ledge do a
low smash attack to send him flying again.
---
#2: When fighting Pikachu in the one player mode fight him on the smallest
platform on the right-end of the stage. If you knock him to the right
far enough he will attempt to use his Quick Attack to get back up but he
will overshoot it and fall down into oblivion anyways.
---
#3: For some reason, Samus in the one player mode seems smarter than all
the other characters so be careful when fighting her! The same can also
be true at times for some of the members of the Kirby team.
---
#4: The 3 team fights in this game are extremely easy because a simple
throw, or being hit with one special attack will send any of them flying
even though they may be at perfect health!
---
#5: Keep an eye out for several hazards in each of the stages. Such as
the acid in Samus's stage, the bumper above Mario's stage, the wind-blowing
tree in Kirby's Stage, the tornados in Link's stage, the wild Pok~mon in
the middle of Pikachu's stage, the Arwing fighters in Fox's stage, the
dissolving platforms to the extreme left and right in Yoshi's stage, the
Pirana plants in the hidden stage and the breakaway lift.
---
#6: In DK's stage there is a barrel flying back and forth below the stage;
it could be your salvation if you get knocked off. Thats if your lucky
enough to be able to get there as its coming back.
---
#7: When an enemy has been knocked straight up into the air kill them by
throwing a Bomb-omb or some other item straight up at them. That ensures
they won't be coming back soon.
---
#8: The hidden stage seems to have a shallow right and left edge. So throw
opponents near the right or left edge of the visible area to get rid of them
quickly. Its advisable not to try this on the lower left hand corner
since its got that brick platform above it. This works espeically well
with the right edge.
---
#9: Never, ever grab a crate on an unstable platform (examples would be
the lift in the center of the hidden stage and the clouds on the left and
right edges of Yoashi's stage) cause they willl break away or disappear
before you can get rid of the crate or barrel. Unless of course you are
playing as DK, which is another reason why I love DK.
---
#10: If you see a Hammer appear during a game...GRAB IT! It can do
tremendous damage to enemies (upwards of 26% damage) and send them flying
to oblivion. Just be careful not to run over any bomb-ombs with it or
you'll go flying! Also do not ump over a gap because your jumping
trajectory is limited and you may not be able to make it over to teh other
side without falling down a bottomless pit.
---
#11: Throw Motion-sensor bombs so they land near or on the edge of the
stage so the person grabbing the edge after being knocked off will go
flying as soon as he/she does grab the edge.
---
#12: Detonate a motion-sensor bomb from a safe distance (or when you want to
make absolutely certain it blows up on someone) with your projectile special
move. Such as Mario's fireball, or Fox's laser. The same goes for
Bomb-ombs.
---
#13: Be careful when playing Team battles with an advanced CPU buddy.
Because the buddy may sometimes throw something at you. Although it should
be by mistake....sometimes I think it's deliberate.
---
#14: Be careful when hanging frm a ledge because your are sometimes
flashing & invincible other times you are not. You can also use this fact
to your advantage. To get up immediately press A repeatedly as you near
the edge of the stage after being knocked off.
---
#15: Do NOT throw capsules, barrels, or other containers at teammates.
And do not throw a capsule down at your feet since they can be booby traps
that explode as soon as they make contact with another player or with the
ground. Throw them at an enemy.

that appear:

different options as follows:
1a) TIME: This is a game in which a timer will count down to zero,

themselves alive as well) will win. The time can be changed on the
player select screen. Or on this same screen.

These are options that will affect the game in certain ways. There are
four (or five if you unlocked the Item Switch yet) as follows:
1) HANDICAP: Turns the handicap for players on or off. Change the
actual handicap setting on the player select screen, the higher the
number the easier it is to knock that player off. Set the handicap
option to AUTO to have the computer select it.
2) TEAM ATTACK: Choose whether or not team members can be attacked
by their teammates.
3) STAGE SELECT: Set to ON to select the stage yourself. Set it to
OFF to have the computer choose a stage randomly.
4) DAMAGE: Sets the "bounce" factor. At 50% you will bounce half as
far after an attack. At 200% one attack is enough to send you to
meet your maker.
5) ITEM SWITCH: This option is only unavailable if you have unlocked
it. It lets you select the rate of appearance of items in the battle
and what items will appear.
----
3) VS START
Brings you to teh player select screen where you can choose your
characters. In team battle you can assign what team by pressing the button
in the upper right of the open window showing the character you selected,
this button also selects whether or not this character is Human or Computer
controlled, if it is computer controlled you can select the difficulty at
the bottom of this window. When the Handicap option is set to ON you can
select the handicap below the picture of the human players in the window.
You can also change the Time or Stock (depending on the rules) at the top
of this screen.
And once your done setting up the characters press START to go to the
Stage Select screen (if Stage Select is enabled, if not you'll directly go
to teh fight) and select your stage. Once the fight starts to end it at
anytime press START to pause then press and hold the following:
A, B, Z, R
When the battle is over or you have quit the results screen is displayed.
This screen show how many points the players have scored by throwing others
off (KOs). And also how many times they got knocked off (TKOS). In timed
battles the player with the highest net number of KOs (TKOs-KOs) wins.
In stock games the player with the highest number of KOs wins. When a
battle game ends in a tie are playres that are involved in that tie go into
Sudden Death where all damage is set at 300% and the last player left
standing wins. If you end a timed game before its over or you quit during
Sudden Death, No Contest appears on the results screen and no one has
really won. Unless someone has an inflated ego and decides that they are
the best cause of their score.

When fighting Master Hand looks to these tactics.
---
#1: To avoid his downward slap press and hold Z to guard against them.
#2: To avoid his back hand slap jump above it as he starts it.
#3: Attack him when he stops to rest in between attacks.
#4: When he walks on his fingers jump over him and get behind him.
#5: When he makes the shape of a gun block the bullets that come out.
#6: Once he gets under 100 HP his attacks get faster. And they increase
intensity. Such as his gun attack shoots out three bullets. Use strong
basic attacks when he stops to rest. Take away all of his HP and you win.
You shouldn't have too much trouble he isn't that dificult (on the easier
levels of difficulty).
