Note that you need to switch from NMEA to Garmin Protocol.

This is how it is done:

First go to the "system" menu and hit "Enter":

Next select the "interface" settings (and "Enter"):

Once in the Interface Menu, move to the displayed protocol, hit "Enter" and use the "Jog-Dial" to select "Garmin-Garmin" protocol.

NOW you're ready to use GaRoute for transfering waypoints.....

Once you're done, switch back to NMEA-NMEA protocol to see you're position on the maps of Street 99 and Route Planner.
