Mouser - 01/20/98 06:51:46 My URL:http://mouser.entrophica.com My Email:mouser@imaginet.com | Comments: great robot, very simple for what it can do. i like the 556 idea especially. though this might interest you: i made the same motor driver but instead of mouting the chips on a board, i bend some of the pins around and piggy backed the chips. clip pins , 4, 10, and 13 from both chips, bend pins 3, 7, 11, and 14 up on one chip (bottom chip) and pins 2, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 12 up on the other chip (top). the chips can now be piggy backed. solder the overlapping contacts together and run some wire inbetween a d on the top and bottom and you've got an entire driver with a footprint no larger than the original 556. :) |
