* The Most Annoying NTN Player Ever!
We have one player who comes into the Peel Pub now & then. He goes by the aliases of KEVIN, TYGER & WEASEL. It's been said that he even looks like a weasel. He uses these 2-3 aliases. One of those with over 2 million PPpts, I've been told, belongs to someone else. He claims credit for all of them.This is a guy who says, "See that guy LASHER up there on the High Scoreboard (14,000 scores)? That's me!". That's what he told LEGEND & myself the first time we saw him there. He tried that with BRUTAL (who told him off) & JIMMY (who also told him off). He played as Lasher when we weren't around until that PIN#'s handle was changed to BALDY. High scoreboard my butt. There's no way the real LASHER gets 5000-6000 game after game. He's admitted that he's a 7000 pt/game player but that's still a little high.
Some time ago, each time he was there, he'd frequency-hop to see which ones we're on, especially during breaks. BRUCRU has witnessed him searching for other PIN#'s to use. I've personally caught him changing my handle. As soon as I saw it changing, I walked up behind him & sure enough, he was backspacing SLUG.
He's returned a playmaker saying it's 'screwed up'. He was trying to use yet another PIN# & accidentally loaded the Player's Plus application form & couldn't get out.
Speaking of PIN#'s.. he's created numerous fake accounts on several different PIN#'s. Some time ago, when our location changed hard drives & the PIN#'s didn't work. A few of our PIN#'s had some of these new dummy accounts on them. All had less than 5000 PP pts.
He wonders why none of the regulars like him. It's not hard to see why. "See that guy who's #3 on the network? I know that guy!" What's your point? "Don't mess with me or I'll crash the NTN system"
JIMMY says that he wants to make friends. Personally, I don't see how threats & frequency hopping are good ways to make friends. There's no rule that says just because he has an NTN playmaker that we HAVE to talk to him. I've heard that a majority of others from the different La Cage aux Sport's don't like him either.
He's been seen at La Cage showing someone all the PIN#'s that he has found written on a piece of paper. They mostly belong to the more popular players at that particular location. Whether or not they want it.. he earns points for them. He did that for LASHER at Peel Pub before the account & points were moved to La Cage Aux Sport in Ville St-Laurent. This guy went to the La Cage in Ville St-Laurent. He found LASHER's PIN# again & continued to earn Players Plus points for him... 500 pts at a time. LASHER has since moved his account & points again. The idiot created his own LASHER account at Peel Pub to play with when we're around.
What he does is he checks PIN#s from 0000 to 9999 one by one & makes note of familiar players' handles. Personally, my opinion of him is that he has no life. Therefore, he has plenty of time to sit all day searching for PIN#s. He's this sad little man who trys to impress people by passing himself off as someone else only to have the other person tell him off cause it's one of their friends that he's pretending to be. Another way he constantly tries to impress people by is, "Don't mess with me! I used to be a wrestler!" What's your point? Someone once responded by saying, "Don't even talk to me. You're not worth my time."
Every time he's confronted, he says the same thing, "It's not me!"
January 25th, 1997, BRUTAL was there. During a break between games, he decided to see what WEASEL was up to. BRUTAL looked around the corner around the pillar where he was sitting & observed for a minute or two. I suppose I should be surprised but I'm not. He witnessed the idiot punching in PIN#s: 1957.. 1958.. 1959.. etc. It was at that point that BRUTAL snatched his playmaker & brought it to the manager. His standard response, "It wasn't me!" Please, not everyone is that stupid. The manager agreed that it was a problem. Not sure if he did anything or not. I'm sure if it was Miko or Steve as manager at the time, he would have gotten tossed.
"You should have knocked his head in!", said one waitress after this incident. She doesn't like the "cheap SOB" either. Apparently, on weekends, he'd go in & order breakfast (which lasts until 4pm).. which includes a bottomless cup of coffee. He'd sit there for hours demanding refill after refill. One of the managers told us that the idiot once stayed there for 16 straight hours. Cripes! That's a LOT of coffee.
He's already compiled a list of player plus PIN#s at the other La Cage aux Sports. As of February 1st, he's checked from PIN#s 0000 to about 5000 at Peel Pub. It's just a matter of time before he finds everyone's. That's 3000 more than a week previous on January 25th (see 2 paragraphs back).
Like myself, I'm sure most others have the satisfaction that they earned their points through playing. With this idiot constantly "helping" others earn points.. let's just say that they're not very pleased. They don't want his help. In fact, he's making them look bad when someone else sees the handle up on the screen & the final score is 6000pts instead of the usual 12,000s - 14,000s.
We've asked him on many occasions to cease using our PIN#s yet he won't. When asked nicely, we always get the same "It's not me." excuse. We've given him the benefit of the doubt before but he's threw it out the window by doing the above.
Frankly, I don't see how he can take pride in saying "I've got a RED cross!" when someone else earned half the points for him.
February 6th, 1997 This guy threatens to get all of our Players Plus Point deleted. Good luck. It's hard enough to get one account nuked. Let's see him try calling up NTN to get a dozen accounts nuked. He's already found all our PIN#s by checking all of them one by one.. tho', I don't know if that will help him or not.
February 7th, 1997 TJ called NTN to ask about his account. When he said he was from Peel Pub, the representative immediately asked him if he was "Tony" (aka BRUTAL). There's no one else at our location who plays NTN regularly who knows all of us. There's one manager named Tony but he hardly knows us. To the best of our knowledge, Tony hasn't called NTN at all in recent months. Apparently, in recent weeks, someone had been calling NTN saying he was "Tony" & complained about the all of us. This may be just speculation on my part but I strongly suspect that it was our resident weasel. If you're going to complain about us then use your own name. Then again, it seems to give his self-esteem a little boost by masquerading as others while playing NTN. Why should it be different elsewhere?
March 27th, 1997 He's been relatively quiet as of late. He still plays with other people's frequencies & handles. I've seen him playing under the accounts of SKOAL, MCGEE & STING. I've met all of them & they weren't present at the time of the game. Besides, they don't get consistent scores of -250 pts. He told someone that "Oh.. SKOAL gave me permission to use his account." Yeah, right.. that's the same thing he told someone else last year when he was playing as LASHER.. Hell will freeze before LASHER will let him freely play using the account.
One player, ERISTE, is quite pissed at him. During one game, the idiot jumped onto his frequency near the end of the game & changed the ERISTE handle in order to get 1000 players plus points. ERISTE got no P+ points that game.
March 29th, 1997 Yet another confrontation with the idiot. He jumped on TJ's frequency during a game & started signing up for a new player's plus account. "It wasn't me!" A family member of his passed by at one point & sat with them. He played under the SKOAL account again. Later on, he played under TJ DIE & other negative handles. The family member got angry & she complained to the apathetic co-owner. He gave the idiot a warning.. not that it'll do any good. On the idiot's way out he said something to the effect of "Shut up, you b**ch! You act like you haven't gotten any in a long time." KEN confronted him and told him NOT to play with everybody's names there. KEVIDIOT said his usual "I don't do that" shit. ARVIDA (Andree) was also there and she confirmed to KEN that this was the idiot that showed her the list of all the PIN numbers at La Cage. The name that KEVIDIOT used was DYTEX. I will look for PIN number next time I am there or will mention it to NTN so that they can kill this code too. Guess what, this code has 5000 Players points. Duh.
May 3rd, 1997 I've been told that when none of the regulars are around, he tells new players that the names up on the Top 10 scoreboard are all him. The then goes on to prove it by punching in the proper PIN#s which of course he's memorized. A player named BOBINO claims that he does this. "See all those names on the high scoreboard? LASHER, TJ, SLUG, FRITZ, BRUTAL, BLADE, etc.. They're all mine!" LASHER says, "Just watch him play a game or two. You'll realize that they're not him."
Someone told a story of how a group of guys got fed up of some guy one time. The guy was much bigger than any of them but as a group, they dragged him outside & duct-taped him to a lamppost. *ahem* Hypothetically, a well-placed "I hate..." sign taped to his chest should bring interesting results. Hypothetically speaking of course.. *grin*
June 16th, 1997 It's been theorized that this idiot is enjoying the attention being paid to him. For months now, I've been ignoring him. By becoming annoyed at him and his stupid attempts to provoke us thru the use of handles like: LASH U, DIE TJ, etc.. in some twisted way, he likes the attention.. even if it's negative. Therefore, I just ignore him. Once the others agree to ignore him & actually do it.. he'll find that he's not the center of attention anymore & might stop. Certain others, like TRIVIO, TJ, OMEGA claim that they can't stand him but over & over, continue to sit with him. "Oh.. he came over & just sat down." He doesn't do that to me, so why them?
In the past week, he created many new Players Plus accounts down at Peel Pub 1. PIN numbers 0003 to 0009 are all TYGER accounts. Seems the NTN program allows him to create 7 accounts (that we know of) with the same handle. He's also created his own BRUTAL, LASHER & TRIVIO accounts. It's just so ridiculously stupid now that I just can't believe it. Get a major life. I don't know if it's a bug in the program that's present in all locations or just here but I seriously can't believe it. I wonder if he's got BRUCRU, SLUG, LEGEND, YO accounts out there that we haven't seen him use yet. TRIVIO doesn't give a hoot about the Players Plus so it's painfully obvious who's account it is. We've given up hope that either Peel Pub management or NTN will do anything. Gotta live with him sitting scowling just out of the corner of our eyes.
July 28th, 1997 Apparently, QBERT & myself have been added to the list of names whose handles this guy plays under when we're not around. For the longest time, he hadn't played under SLUG. I've heard from others that he's adopted SLUG and QBERT handles most likely for his bragging purposes.
