A bit of tolerance is worth a megabyte of flaming.
Go not to Usenet for answers, for they will say both yes and no
and 'try another newsgroup'.
He who flames improperly risks making an ash of himself.
If extent of addiction can be judged by how long a dumb animal will sit
repetitively pressing a bar in order to receive an occasional dose of instant
gratification, I must conclude that Netnews is far more addictive than cocaine.
The flame war is a specific Usenet art form.
Unfortunately, it seems that the way usenet is set up, women are the zebras,
and men are the lions, and the Internet is one big Serenghetti.
Usenet is distributed network anarchy at its best ... or worst,
depending on what is posted on any particular day.
Usenet is like a herd of performing elephants with diarrhea -- massive,
difficult to redirect, awe-inspiring, entertaining, and a source of mind-boggling
amounts of excrement when you least expected it.
Usenet is like Tetris for people who still remember how to read.
Usenet isn't a right. It's a right, a left, and a swift
uppercut to the jaw.
