Some amount of urine deposited at the Habitrail's Whirl-a-Wheel causes smell.
Plastic wheel in the cage is too noisy when being used.
Apply vegetable oil or shaving cream to axle approximately every month.
Are dog biscuits suitable for hamsters?
Michelle Wileman in the UK told me that normal dog biscuits are hard enough for hamsters to wear their teeth down and they enjoy eating them.
Rotten food
If your hamsters live in plastic cages like those from Habitrail during humid weather, make sure that food is cleared away if it is rotten. This is reduce the chance of your hamsters getting sick.
More Pictures
Do you have any pictures of your Habitrail or Hartz hamster homes? Send them over, and we'll display all of them on the same location! We did see a pet store (see Ericsson below) who designed and built Habitrail cities (over 5 metres long) several times in exhibitions, but didn't take any pictures. However, we'll try to snap some in the future for you to see.
